"Guys, it's not that big of a deal! I'm just going to try and talk to Alex some more today.." John giggled at his friends, brushing off his orange V neck shirt. "I'm not even sure about this whole thing.." He mumbled. "Suuree.." Hercules teased, placing his hands on his hips.
The bell rang for first period. "Well, Good luck, mon ami! See you later!" Lafayette said with a smile. "Bye! C'mon Jackie, English!" Hercules said, starting to walk down the hall. "Yeah, okay!" John walked after Hercules down the hall, walking side by side. They looked strong together. "You ready?" Hercules asked, nudging John's arm with his elbow. "I guess.." John mumbled, looking ahead. "You bet your ass you're ready!" Hercules joked, chuckling afterwards. John just forced a nervous chuckle.
They walked inside the door, looking at Alex's desk. He was there. "Well, go say something to him!" Hercules whisper yelled to John. "Ok, ok. I'm going!" John whisper yelled back, crossing his arms. Hercules smirked, proud of himself. John rolled his eyes playfully and chuckled.
The two walked past Alex's desk, Hercules going to the back of the room. John fiddled with his fingers as he approached Alex's desk. "Hey Alex!" He said with a smile, his cheeks felt as if they were on fire. "Oh, Hey John! Did the ink come out alright?" He asked with a smile. "Yeah, it wasn't to horrible.." John said with a shrug. He smiled and sat down at his desk. "Hey John?" Peggy started, twirling her yellow feather boa with her fingers as if it were her hair. "I'm like, really sorry about yesterday.." She trailed off.
John rolled his eyes, then turned around. He'd never know where these boosts of confidence came from. "Sure you are, Peggy." He hissed, then turned around, his arms crossed over his stomach. Peggy gasped. "Humph!" She turned her nose up.
John turned to Alex. "Hey, Alex? How are you?" He asked with a sweet smile, despite his previous actions. "Oh, uh, pretty good. You?" He said, a smile on his face. "Yeah, I'm pretty good!" He said, then turned to the front of the class. He scowled. "What am I doing.." he mumbled to himself.
"Alright class!" Mr. Franklin began. "Today we are doing work with a partner. I'm letting you choose you own partners. Please don't make me regret my decision. I want work done here people." He said, collecting papers from his desk.
Ask him! Ask him to be your partner! John thought. "Hey, uh, Alex? Partners?" John asked. "Oh, yeah! Sure!" He responded enthusiastically. "Yo Alex! Partners?" A boy from behind him asked. "Oh, sorry dude, I already have one." Alex said, pointing to John. The boy looked at John, then back to Alex. "He's pretty fine!" He teased.
"Class! Please listen!" Mr. Franklin said, trying to quiet down everyone. "Once you have a partner, kindly take one of these criteria sheets on my desk. Once you have read it, you may begin on the project." He finished, nodding to the class. "You may start working." He said, then sat down at the desk.
Students came up one by one to retrieve the sheet of paper from the teacher. Some walked by John and sat down at their desks with their partners. "Hey, Alex, want me to get us a paper?" John asked, looking over to Alex. "Ok!" Alex responded with a smile. John got up from his seat and walked over to the teacher's desk, getting the sheet of paper. John sat down, placing the paper on his desk. Alex grabbed his chair and scooted it over to Johns desk, sitting on the side of it. "Alright.. we have a poetry analysis project." John turned to Alexander. "We each have to right a poem, and then we give it to our partner to analyze." John finished.
"Sounds cool!" Alex said. "Well, I'm not that good at poetry thought.." Alex said. John chucked. "That's ok! Neither am I." John smiled.
Peggy watched them from behind, not liking it at all. The two were much to close. She had to inform her sister right away. She turned to her partner, Martha Manning. "Hey, can you like, work? I have to text someone." Peggy said, flicking her boa. "Um, ok?" Martha half asked. "Don't worry, I'll only be a few seconds." Peggy said, then got out her phone.
~Angelica Schuyler~
Pegs: OMG Angie! John asked Alex to be his partner and he said YES!!
"Uh, are you done yet?" Martha asked, getting impatient. "No!" Peggy snapped, rolling her eyes. Her phone vibrated.
Angie: WHAT?! That fat loser!
Pegs: what r we going to do?!
Martha groaned, crossing her arms.
Angie: IDK!!
Alex turned to John, "Hey, uh, this project might take a while. It's due in a week." John turned to Alex. "Yeah, we don't have a lot of time.." John thought. "Hey, do you wanna come over to my house after school and we can work on it?" He asked. "Yeah, that's would be awesome!" Alex responded with a smile. "Ok!" John said. "Cool!" He smiled, then turned to his work.

"Oh mon dieu!!" Lafayette exclaimed. "He's going to your house after school?!" Lafayette asked, gawking. Hercules squealed. "Guys! What happened to playing it cool?!" John scolded playfully. "Sorry! Sorry!" Hercules apologized. "See, John? He totally likes toi!" Lafayette squealed with delight. "You're joking, right?" John asked. "This doesn't mean anything! We're working on a project!" John giggled at his friends.
Angelica growled watching John giggle from across the lunch room. He was suppose to be in pain, crying. Just like she did when she had to leave. "What are we going to do?" Peggy asked, watching her sister tense up. "Yeah!" Eliza said, pouting. Angelica scoffed. "I don't know yet ok!" She snapped. "But if she thinks that some little English project is going to make him like her, she's sadlay mistaken!" Angelica dug her hot pink acrylic nails into her arms. "I have Alex wrapped around my perfectly manicured hand." She smirked.
Alex walked over from his table to Angelica. "Hey babe, want me to buy you lunch?" He asked sweetly. Angelica smiled and turned to her sisters. "Point proven." She smirked and turned back to Alex. "No thanks, baby. I ate yesterday." She smiled, feigning innocence. "Uh.. What?" Alex asked confused. "Angie, you have to eat everyday.." He said, concerned. "Shut up." She demanded, then kissed him. "Do you want to come with y to the gym after school, Lexi?" Angelica asked, turnin into a sweet angel.
"Oh, uh. Actually I can't.." Alex started. Angelica scoffed, her inner devil coming back to life. "Fine! Forget it!" She spat, turning away from him. Her sisters just stared, not really knowing what to do. "Uh.. Uh- I'm -I'm sorry.." He said, sounding sad.
John took a bite of his green beans. He just needed soemthing to get though the day, and something to eat in front of his friends. "Hey, John? Is that all you're eating?" Lafayette asked, sound in concerned. "Oh, uh. Yeah." He said, fake smiling. Hercules looked at him skeptically. "I-I just.. had a big breakfast.." He lied.
"Hey, Mom. I'm just going to take this out and walk to school." Eleanor looked at her son. "Okay.. are you sure you don't want me to drive you?" She asked. "Yeah, I'm sure!" He smiled. "Ok, then. Well, bye honey have a good day at school!" She said cheerfully. "I will!" He said, then walked out the door.
"What can I do with this?" He asked himself, looking around for places he could hide the granola bar. He looked behind the house. That would be a perfect place. He thee the granola bar. Maybe some stray animals would find it. They needed it more than him anyway. He thre the bar behind a tree. "Damn. That was hard.." he mumbled. "Whatever..". John walked down the street to school.
"Alright..." Lafayette said. "Okay then.." Hercules took a bite of his lunch.
They can't know about this..
