I hopped into the car, the cop let me sit in the front.

He said he didn't want me in the back seat where all the bad guys were.

"So, Audrey? Right?" He said.

"Yea." I said.

"I'm sorry for your loss." He said.

I said nothing.

We pulled into a big building.

'ADOPTION CENTER' was plastered across the top.

The car parked.

"Okay, c'mon Audrey" the officer said.

We walked in.

A lady walked over to us. I had my bag in my hand.

"Hi, sweetie I'm Susie! Who are you?" She said sweetly, and bent down on her knees.

"Audrey." I said.

"I love your name!" She said.

I said nothing.

"Let me take you to your room. Adoption day is tomorrow. Hopefully you'll get lucky and find someone nice to take you home!"

She was one of those adults who always is sweet to the kids and then when people make her mad she'll like make you mad too.. I could tell, and I barely knew her.

Miss suzie patted my back. "C'mon, bye officer." She said. I nodded.

When we were a few feet from the officer, I turned back and waved to him.

He took his hat off, and waved back.

I smirked.

Me and suzie walked up two flights of stairs.

We reached a room. I saw a girl with blond hair and blue eyes.

"Kait, this is Audrey, your new roomate." She said.

"Hi," she jumped up from folding a pair of jeans.

I waved, I could tell she was really girly.

"MARCEYYYYYY!!!!!!" I heard a little girls voice.

"Oh, girls, I've gotta go, Jackie and Marcey again. Have fun!" She shut the door.

"Hi, I'm Kait!" She said.

There was a bed, "I'm Audrey." I said starting to unpack my things.

I really wanted to be adopted.

Because I really didn't like this place.
