Back in Konohagakure, the village was mourning the death of the third Hokage.

Konohamaru cried as he held onto Asuma's leg, missing his grandpa. Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and Kakashi were devastated from hearing that Himika left the village and also cried from the death of the Hokage.

A cool rain came down from the grey clouds and covered everyone in a layer of water. Everyone's tears were washed away as they mixed with the rain and slid off their faces to the ground.

One by one, citizens of Konoha came and left a flower of their choosing on the Hokage's grave, saying small prayers before walking away to continue with their lives.

Naruto cried with Konohamaru as they both wept for the Hokage. Eventually the funeral ended and the crowd dispersed, walking off in different directions towards their homes.

The rest of team seven walked silently, not knowing what they should talk about. Naruto was saddened by the Hokage's death, but was filled with determination to find out why Himika left and to bring her back. Kakashi had been distant, blaming himself for Himika's running away, thinking that he isn't a good sensei to his students. Sakura was upset that she left, actually starting to be a friend to Himika. Sasuke was annoyed, not knowing why she left and not being able to talk to her before she left.

"We'll meet up tomorrow for missions team." Kakashi said before disappearing in a puff of smoke.

Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke walked in silence for a while before splitting up and heading to their homes.

Back at the hideout, only a week had passed and Himika was slowly adjusting to the dark cave. She enjoyed that she was aloud to do whatever she wanted during the day, also liking that she didn't have to hide her ghoul eye.

Even though her new life was enjoyable she still kept her goals in mind, she still had to escape. She was baffled as to why they haven't escaped yet, they had been sent out on many missions and those provided an opening to escape, mostly assassination missions or retrievals for items like scrolls.

'Not yet,' Kaneki would say, 'you don't have his full trust.'

'When the hell will I have his trust!' Himika thought in anger, punching Kaneki a little too hard.

Kaneki stumbled back a bit, steadying himself before speaking.

"It's just training, why are you punching so hard all of a sudden?" Kaneki asked.

"It's nothing." Himika scoffed, walking to the wall and sliding down until she sat on the floor.

"It clearly isn't nothing, otherwise you wouldn't be so agitated." Kaneki replied taking a seat next to her and holding out a plastic water bottle for her.

"It's just.... Why can't we just leave? Why do we need his trust?" Himika asked, accepting the water and twisting open the cap.

"If we don't have his trust, then he won't be more relaxed around us. Haven't you noticed that he always keeps an eye on us?" Kaneki replied.

"I guess." Himika sighed, remembering that Kabuto often follows them around.

"Not to mention the fact that you could be much stronger than you are." Kaneki said, opening his own water bottle and chugging half of it.

"I know." She replied.

"Alright then, back to work." Kaneki said, placing his bottle against the wall.

"Hai." Himika replied.

She quickly chugged the rest of her water before crushing the bottle and throwing it to the side. Kaneki offered his hand to her to get up, she graciously accepted the hand and pulled herself into a standing position.

Kaneki's kagune slid out from his back, Himika's doing the same. They both took a fighting position and brushed any stray hairs out of their eyes. A downside to keeping their eyes covered was the reduced vision, but now they didn't need to cover their eyes.

Kaneki attacked first, using punches, kicks and a few slashes to attack. Himika countered by dodging and stabbing, swiftly moving from side to side. Kaneki was about to slash again until the door abruptly swung open.

"Lord Orochimaru asked me to bring you both to him." Kabuto said, stepping into the room.

"We'll be right there." Kaneki replied.

Kabuto nodded and left the room, closing the door until it made a  satisfying 'click'. Kaneki waited until Kabuto's footsteps faded and let out a sigh.

"Most likely a new mission." Kaneki sighed as he started making his way to the door.

"I suppose it must be, considering that's all we ever do." Himika replied, also sighing as she followed Kaneki to the door.

They both put away their kagune's before Kaneki shoved the door open and the two made their way to Orochimaru's 'mission' room (that's what they called it anyway because all he does in there is give them missions). They stopped in front of the room and Kaneki knocked, waiting for permission to enter.

"Enter." They heard Orochimaru reply from behind the oak door.

Kaneki opened the door and the pair stood in front of Orochimaru's desk.

"Kaneki, Himika, I called you here for two reasons." He started, reaching into his desk. "Firstly, you have a new mission, secondly I have something for you Himika."

He pulled two things from his desk, one a manilla folder and the other was a black Otogakure headband. He handed the file to Kaneki and the headband to Himika.

"All details of the mission are in the folder, you are to leave tomorrow morning and are expected back in one week." Orochimaru ordered, folding his hands neatly on his desk in a threatening way.

"Hai." They both replied.

"Good. You are dismissed." Orochimaru said, making a 'shoo' gesture with his hand as if he were swatting flies.

Himika and Kaneki both left the office like room and headed down the hall leading to their rooms.

"My room or your room?" Himika asked, wondering where they would discuss their mission.

"Mine." Kaneki replied.

They stopped in front of Kaneki's room for a brief moment as he opened the door before pushing it open and letting Himika inside. Himika shut the door and took a seat next to Kaneki on his bed, which was identical to hers. Kaneki's eyes darted across the paper as he skimmed through the mission files.

"Want the full version or the shortened version?" Kaneki asked as he placed down the file and took out a picture from the pocket of the file.

"Shortened please." Himika replied.

"Basically, we travel to the Land of Tea, kill some guy named Aoi Rokusho, take his lightning sword and give it to Orochimaru. The only other thing he really mentioned was to make sure his body couldn't be found, he said to get rid of it in any way we see fit. I guess that means we could eat him." Kaneki said, shrugging at the end.

"So what's this Aoi guy look like?" Himika asked, trying to find out what the target looked like. Kaneki handed her the picture and Himika studied his face. He had medium greenish colored hair, purple eyes and had fair skin, not pale, but not tan either.

"Got it." Himika said, nodding her head.

"Good. We leave tomorrow morning, so go pack and get some sleep." Kaneki ordered.

"Alright." She replied.

She got up and headed to her room to get ready. Packing her clothes and an eyepatch to hide her eye from any humans.

'Land of Tea? Never heard of it.' Himika thought to herself.

She looked at the Otogakure headband in her hand and tied it around her head with a shrug.

'It's not like I'm a Konohagakure ninja anymore.' She thought with a shrug.
