Mahi pov .

"Mahi! Wake up, you lazy one, or we have other ways," my sister scolded me.

"We?" I exclaimed, opening my eyes to find my three sisters smiling.

"What are you all doing here?" I asked, bewildered by their sudden visit.

"No welcome, no hugs, and no greetings? Last time we met was on Eid last year.""It's been so long since we've been at Dad's house," Sabah said.

"So, I didn't say to get married and live with your in-laws," I retorted, prompting laughter from them.

Confused, I asked, "Why are you laughing?" Then Haani dropped the bomb.

"You should pack too because you're leaving soon. Don't you wonder why we're all here?""No, I don't," I replied,

startled. My younger sister, Zara, sat beside me and delivered the news."Mahi darling, the Ahmedzais are coming to see you for their son,"

she said, triggering laughter among them.I was shocked. "No, this can't happen. Daddy isn't here; he's in Dubai. They can't come without him being present," I protested.

"Silly, Daddy and Uncle Naved are here; they arrived from Dubai this morning," Sabah revealed.

"Everything's decided. Get ready to be Fahd's wife," Haani teased, pinching me. I pushed them away and stormed to my father's study without knocking.

"What the hell!" I exclaimed as I barged in.

My father and uncle turned to face me.

"What?" my uncle exclaimed."This can't be happening, Daddy.

I don't want to get married so soon," I cried."You're a grown woman.

Your sisters are married and leading great lives. People are talking about you," my dad remarked.

"Because people are spreading rumors, I should get married?" I yelled.

"Stop yelling, Mahi. This is not acceptable. You should get married soon," my uncle interjected.

"The guy is perfect for you: young, well-mannered, and from a great family. It's final; go get ready.

They'll be here soon," my father concluded."Okay, Dad, but will both my elder brothers come to my wedding?" I asked.

They remained silent. "Really? They don't even know how I look, who I am. I don't remember their faces; I haven't seen them in 15 years," I lamented.

"They have nothing to do with you. You just know you have two brothers, Farhan and Goher. Your elder brothers have nothing to do with you; just go get ready," my uncle stated.

Angry, I glared at them one last time before storming off to my room. I bumped into someone.

"Can't you look?" I pushed, but he held my hand. It was my elder brother, Farhan.

"Sorry, Bhai," I apologized. "It's okay, sis. Why are you so angry? What happened?" he asked.

"Dad wants me to get married, and I'm not sure about it. I don't know what's happening," I confessed. He laughed.

"Calm down, Mahi. It's okay not to be sure. Dad is just concerned.

He's found the best guy for you. He's perfect among your other brother-in-laws. I met him personally; he's cool, amazing, funny, and handsome," he reassured, winking at me.

"What should I do, brother?" I inquired."If you want my opinion, say yes. You'll look perfect in front of that perfect guy," he advised.

"Okay, bye," I said abruptly."What? Okay, bye," he replied, looking confused.
