Alderinian - The Ancient Tongue/Language/Word
[ahl der inn ee ann]

It is a lost language, yet many of Alder's most ancient of cities, structures, and natural formations are named in Alderinian.

On creating proper nouns:
(a) = n... (e) = d...

On plurals:
Uhhh... So far there are no plurals except for i

On pronunciation:
a = a ('ah' if surrounded by consonants, with some dialect exceptions)
ay = a/ay
re = ree/ray (depending on the dialect)
di = dee
ey = ee  (if followed by another e; i)
ya = yah
er = err

Words:
kadi - understand/to understand [kah dee]

ayre - feel(ing) [ay ree/ray]

kadiayre - a feeling of understanding [kah dee a ree/ray]

raz - fear [rahz]

al - the [ahl]

1*shayta(n) - demon [shah ta(tahn)]

van - lead [vahn]

Kareler(i)/Fëaeler(i) - Fire People [kahr(kar) el err (ee)/fay ah el er (ee)]

Fëa/Kar - fire [fay ah/kahr]

4* eler(i) - person (people) [el er (ee)]

2* (van)garya(n) - guardian [gahr yah]

shvart - black (shvahrt)

3* shvartseye(d) -  black eye(d) [shvahrt sigh(d)]

seye - eye [sigh]

vryl - high [vril]

ortaw/orttaw/ortta/orta - mountain [ort tah]

ort - rock

taw/ta - home [tah]

Ort Taw Kareleri - rough translation to "Home of the Fire People" (not sure how the phrase works yet or if I need to change it) [ort/tah/kahr el er ee ]

tarus - sun [tahr us]

1* By adding an 'n' to shayta the word becomes the proper noun 'Shaytan'.

2* in this instance Vangaryan is a species of human appearance. The literal translation is Lead Guardian, 'van' being 'lead' and 'garya' being 'guardian'. By adding an 'n' onto 'garya' it now becomes a proper noun, and thus 'Garyan' is capitalized.

3* By adding a 'd' to 'shvartseye' the word becomes the proper noun, and name of humanoid species Shvartseyed.

4* By adding the 'i' 'eler' becomes 'eleri', this creating the plural of person; people. Not sure how that works yet, but I'll figure it out.

So, uh, sneak peak at the language I'm trying to come up with for The Kliana Empire Series.

Actually this is all I have.

HOLY CRAP THIS IS HARD!

I mean, it's fun, but so so so so so so so so so hard! I was also changing and adding stuff right up until I published it. There's probably some inconsistencies in it, but I don't care right now.

I can make a sentence though!

Raz al shayta.

(Grinning like a fool because this is so freaking awesome!)
