The city of sighs

Lost in the city of sighs
Flashing colours amongst the sunlight and cheers,
shrouded in history. Sneers and snarls from rich and clever
And yet they're not getting any better.

Stories worth a hundred years
Like pearls amongst the rough
The water flows
And curves
And twirls
Around the city. Guiding the way for weary travellers

Youth rowing two and throw
But never knowing which way to go
Homeless men and women
Next to lords and ladies
Future leaders

Are they seeing it yet?
Lost in the city of sighs.
