I'm at my locker with Cyrus for my first day of school and honestly I'm so terrified I've cried three times today anyways I look over to see Jonah Beck walking over which is making me even more nervous "Hey I have to get to my locker will you be okay?" Cyrus asks "Oh um yeah sure" I say

"Hey!" Jonah says "Hey Jonah Beck" I say "Just call me Jonah" he says "Okay" I say "Are you excited to be starting here at Jefferson?" he asks "You want the truth?" I ask "Well yeah" he says "The truth is I'm terrified" I say "You don't have to be Little Flower" he says "Little Flower?" I ask closing my locker and facing Jonah "Well an Iris is a type of flowers and you're small and fragile plus all my friends have nicknames from me so I figured I would call you Little Flower" he says "I like it you just improved this day Jon(pronounced jone) that's a nickname it's your name but without the ah" I say "Can I walk you to class?" he asks "I would enjoy that a lot" I say as we start walking

We get to my class then he tried to give me a hug but I back away "I uh" I say but just walk into my class sitting next to Cyrus, I have Cyrus in periods one three and six, Jonah in periods two and four, Buffy and Andi in five, and Tj in four and six

"How are you adjusting?" Cyrus asks "Well Jonah Beck just gave me a nickname then walked me to class so I mean I guess I'm okay" I say "Thats good" he says then the class gets started

"Cyrus can I sit with you at lunch I was to nervous to make friends of my own" I say "Iris how many times do I have to say it my friends are your friends" he says "The only ones I've talked to outside of yesterday at The Spoon are Tj and Jonah" he says "So, it just takes time you have to get to know everyone" he says as we sit down at the table "Hey Cy-guy hey Little Flower" Jonah says sitting next to me "Little Flower?" Andi asks curiously "Yeah it's her nickname" Jonah says making Buffy raise her eyebrows oh god here comes the anxiety those two definitely don't like me "Our nicknames are supposed to include our name like mine is Andi-man and Cyrus' is Cy-guy why doesn't hers include her name" Andi says with a hint of jealously "Look Andi it doesn't matter" Cyrus says "Cyrus" Buffy says cautiously "You know what it's fine I don't need a nickname" I say "You guys are making way to big of a deal out of this it's a nickname" Jonah says "It's fine whatever do you guys want to come to my house tonight for movie night? Tj and Barry already said yes" Andi says "Sure" Jonah says "Iris and I are there" Cyrus says "I'll be right back" I say getting up from the table going out into the hallway before I start crying because I am super sad right now

Well you are the only one
That knows about my depression
And I am feeling sad right now
And I need to talk to some
And maybe cry

I'm on my way

"Hey what's going on?" Tj asks sitting next to me on the bench "Cyrus really wants me to be friends with his friend group but I'm new they don't know me and it looks like they don't even want to Jonah gave me one of his annual friendship nickname and they got mad because it didn't include my name like they genuinely were about to yell I just don't see myself fitting in with them but Cyrus really wants me to I'm gonna see how things go at movie night tonight and if they don't like me then I'll just have to figure something out" I say "I'm sure they'll like you just fine it's just Andi likes Jonah and Buffy is her best friend so she backs Andi up on everything" he says "It was just a nickname" I say "What's the nickname?" he asks "Little Flower" I say "Yeah that's a little bit more romantic than Andi-man so she's just jealous but trust me everything will work out" he says "Thanks Tj" I say laying my head on his shoulder then he lays his head on mine "Hey is everything okay?" Cyrus asks coming out and sitting next to me "Yeah everything's fine" I say "So you two aren't a thing right?" Cyrus asks "Oh my god Cyrus no I've known him for two days" I say "Just making sure" Cyrus says "Cyrus I don't think Andi and Buffy like me" I say "They love you" he says "It didn't really seem like it" I say "Its fine they just need to get to know you which they will at the sleepover tonight" he says "Sleepover?!" I say "Yep I signed you up for it" he says and I just get up walking away from him "Iris wait!" Cyrus says catching up to me "Cyrus they don't like me!" I say "Yes they do!" he says "What makes you think they do!" I say "What makes you think they dont!" he counters "You know what fine I'll give it one more try but if this sleepover goes wrong I'm finding new friends except for Jonah and Tj they're cool" I say "Fine" he says "Also don't tell Jonah I said this but he's cute" I say "Don't tell Andi that they have some weird relationship thing happening" he says "Okay thanks bro" I say heading to class as the end of lunch bell rings
