A/N creds to original artist, Image is of Silver, except that he's got silver hair and a way less angular jaw XD (yes the base is Ichigo Kurosaki for all you Bleach fans like me)

I stare drop jawed at my phone. Most of the class does. I wasn’t expecting this when Shinra said he had a situation...

As one the class stands and leaves the room, leaving the teacher spluttering in shock. Vampires flood the halls from tons of classrooms. The principle is yelling at us, but we ignore him and gear up to full speed.

We reach the forest in a matter of moments. The reek of Slayers is overpowering, the sheer number of them in the woods would be overwhelming, but there are over four-hundred and forty-five of us. It’s easy to reach the clearing. And as one, we stop dead. The cages are stacked fifteen high, in varying sizes. I spot Andres easily – the only glitch in existence, aged four centuries. He’s been passed down through my family for generations. Beside him is a massive Storm Gryph – like the one in that movie... Fantastic Beasts. And above it a red eyed mass of shadows. Aizen.

I growl low in my throat. The crowd reacts with me and we attack. I don’t go for the Slayers though. I follow my nose until I track down Shinra. Shadow Steel cables and barbs have trapped him against a tree.

Only leather gloves enables me to touch the lethal metal without issue. Once I get the barbs unhooked from the wood the cables fall away. He winces and shatters the glass stone on a cord around his neck. Scorched lines mar his skin but he ignores it and snarls viciously.

A moment later a massive metal dragon crashes through the canopy, wings flaring to hover above the clearing. Then it shifts into Eld.

The sheer size of his dragon form is overwhelming. The size statistics run through my head courtesy of a communication bond with my coven mate - an Archivist. Eighty-four meter wingspan tip to tip – forty two meters per wing – and about forty five meters nose to tail. That’s discounting the combat part of his tail. Not to mention the dragon has scaled down its size. So as not to flatten us all.

All of this is made out of metal. In some spots you can see through gaps – rends from battle – to the inner workings. And the occasional missing scale. Though they are intensely guarded by magic – no getting through to that,

As soon as Eld touches down he shifts, revealing a full battle armoured half-man. A powerful kick busts six locks, freeing a bear, a lion and birds of prey. They immediately circle around to their respective bond-mate and join the battle.  Eld then rips the top clean off of six more cages, releasing Aizen and Andres. The Gryph is still trapped.

Aizen appears in human form, wreathed in shadows. Slayers and vampires alike balk at the murderous look on his face. The entire clearing darkens as he starts to draw in power from the shadows around us. A massive Shockwave bursts forth as the Drazic Nightmare flares up around him. I know from family accounts what it’s like, but truly, nothing can prepare you for the pure terror that is the nightmare form.

It’s like experiencing your worst nightmare combined with all the fear, sorrow, rage and nightmares he has accumulated through the years. My knees buckle and I whimper, covering my ears as the sound of shattering, crunching metal fills my ears. The sound is in my head, my bones, like it just happened. The screams, the sirens. My left arm throbs where it went through the windshield.

And then it fades.
“immunity enchant: Blessed Silence!” Lizzy's voice rings out.

Now that I can hear myself think, I study the Drazic Nightmare's appearance - to which all I can see is an ever changing mass off shadows, in which appear faces of my worst nightmare and other twisted things that other people fear.

The shock wave rips the remaining cages open. A slayer lunges for the Gryph, only to find Shinra’s hand wrapped around his throat. Another one goes to loop a length of rope around its neck and Shinra lashes out with purple coven magic, effectively slamming the Slayer into the nearest tree, reducing the enemy to an ancient skeleton.
