Mason's POV-

Derina Williams. I couldn't stop thinking about how she stood up against bullying in school. Her first impression on me was truly amazing.

When she was back answering me I could see fire in those beautiful eyes of hers. Her eyes are big and hazel. Her eyes are something you could get lost in and never find your way out. And indeed she's the prettiest girl in school. Her hair, her eyes, her body language and the way she dresses. She's hot. Really. I've had my way with many girls but all that was meaningless.

She was asking me about my Dad today and I was just not telling her because I was shocked that she didn't know him because her Father and mine were really good friends. I didn't want to tell her because I wanted to hear her talk. Her comebacks were good but that one time she said something stupid, she was so embarrassed in front of me I could see her slender neck getting a light pink shade. What the fUck is wrong with me?

I took a shower and was just back out when Dad called my name and knocked on my door.

"Come in Dad." I shouted.

"Mason, uh, there's a race this weekend. You have to compete with Chase Adams." I knit my eyebrows.

"Adams? Hank's brother?" I asked him and he nodded. I can win against him like I always do against everyone. I never lose.

"Okay, Dad. Where is the race?"

"An hour away from Washington." I nodded.

"Get ready we have to leave for the Waldorf's party."

"Yes Dad I'll come down in half an hour. I have to pick Kyra on the way."

My Dad left my room and then I got ready and headed at Kyra's. She's my childhood friend. She's like a sister I never had. She's always been there for me. Through every rough patch in life. I cannot imagine my life without her.

We arrived at the hotel, Kyra told me it's Derina's, I already knew that. The hotel was beautiful. We entered the hall and the party was as I expected it to be. But I was looking for her. Derina.

And then I saw her, she was looking absofuckinlutely gorgeous. I couldn't take my eyes off her. She was standing next to Mr. Williams and he was saying something to her which only she could hear and I could see from here, her burning with rage at whatever her father was saying. Looks like she doesn't like him so much.

My mother was looking in that same direction and when I wasn't walking any further she cleared her throat to get me out of my trance. I looked at her and she raised her eyebrows at me and I just nodded and we walked in. As we approached them I could feel stares and all eyes on us. I'm well experienced with all this. It's not new for us. Having a legend father and all.

I could also see Derina checking me out. I wanted to chuckle. But I kept walking and stood beside her. I was about to ask her something but her eyes were on her father and Kyra's mother who were talking at the side.

She walked without saying anything as if she didn't even know I was beside her and walked towards her Dad. Everyone here was introducing there sons and daughters to each other and I couldn't be more interested.

My eyes were only on Derina. She was looking like she was going to explode at any moment. That's what I like about her. She stands up for everything. She doesn't let bullshit come her way. I looked away from her.
