The Alpha's Promise

Prologue

She knew love would be painful and she knew it would hurt. He knew he'd destroy her and lose her one day. Yet that didn't stop them, because the toxicity, hostility, and burning electricity fueled their game. Until one day the game had come to an end, one they both feared. The love they had never reached its potential for time was not on their side and it was already too late.

Italy 1470

A loud roar rang through the town.  The town was only populated with werewolves from the Luna Rossa pack. Wolves raised their snouts high in the air and let out howls of sorrow. The howls rang in the air for what seemed like forever. They howled for their Alpha and they howled for their deceased Luna and future alpha. The worst had come and the end they feared had begun. The Alpha was out for blood and no one would rest till the death of their Luna was avenged. Thus began the massacre that stained werewolf history forever.

He cradled her bloodied body in his arms. She was so beautiful. Her eyes twinkled like the moonlight of a full moon and her lips, goddess her lips that he was always begging to taste. She was gone. Gone forever because of his stupid actions. If he had taken better care of her, given her the love she deserved this would have never happened. The saying, "You never know what you have till you have lost it," made complete sense to him now. He had her at some point, but instead of seeing her worth, he pranced around with other women who could never compare to the beauty lying in his arms.

"I'll love you forever mio amore, I'm sorry I couldn't be the mate you deserved, I promise we'll meet again, in another life and I'll be the mate you deserve. Not even death will keep us apart."

She smiled at him while taking her last breath. Then he roared, as he felt his other half and his pup being stripped away from him. It was a pain like no other, a pain he could barely handle. Even though he wanted to let go and be with her he couldn't; Lorenzo knew better. There was still unfinished business. The person who killed his love would die a gruesome death and after he finished killing him, he would take his own life. The killer might've killed her, but he was the one who was responsible for her pain and he would make himself pay. Then one day, may it be 100 years from now or a 1,000 they will meet again, and get a second chance at the life they deserved together.

That right there was The Alpha's Promise.
