change
that's all i wanted
a better me
for you
maybe you'd like the new me
a more improved persona
but change was never good enough
and we remained the same
"nothing a little change can't fix."
i would say
to keep me motivated and sane
i told myself, "this was all for you."
but now we are nothing
plain, simple people
who don't talk like we used to or at all
congratulations darling,
you became someone you weren't
and for what?
three months of attention
driving yourself crazy
all for a little affection
in the end
was it worth it?
no, but i'll admit
i still think about him
endlessly
