Dael flops onto his back right next to me. I doubt that grin of his can get any more smug, but I'm not going to complain. He looks absolutely content and happy, and I guess he's done a good job. We've been at it for three hours at least.

Now that my mind is clearing, I can't help but think that this wasn't supposed to happen, though. At the same time, it's fucking great that it did. Just looking at Dael makes me all giddy and brings a smile onto my lips. Seriously, I never thought I'd be enjoying his presence ever again.

He lifts his hand to my back, and the tips of his fingers start drawing circles that leave me shivering. I moan softly, absolutely satisfied.

"Stop worrying so much," he murmurs, startling me.

"I'm not worrying." He pinches my skin, making me hiss and arch my back to evade the assault. "What was that for?"

"I love you," he tells me with a lop-sided grin. His hand slides up my back, first onto my neck and then my hair before he ruffles it affectionately. "I know I caused you some trouble, but I only want what's best for you."

"And you know what that is?" I scoff, instantly regretting the question when he pointedly raises his eyebrows. I can already imagine his answer.

"Of course. I am," he enlightens me, patting my head. I roll my eyes at him, yet I can't bring myself to disagree. After all, I wouldn't be here with him if it weren't true; I'd be with Theo.

"Seriously, what are you worrying about?"

I sigh. "You do remember I have a boyfriend."

"Tsk. I'm your boyfriend. Husband, to be more specific."

Groaning, I roll onto my back. He's right, kind of. But I don't think it's that easy. "I don't want to hurt him."

Dael rolls his eyes at me. "He's hurting already. Just get it over with, for his sake as well. You can't keep delaying these things."

"Keep delaying?" I inquire, but he just shrugs.

"Which reminds me." He gets up from the bed, allowing me to gawk at his glorious ass. I might have said that he is the only one I'm allowing to top me, but that doesn't mean I haven't developed a finer taste for penetrating butts. I doubt he'd ever let me, though.

He leaves the room for a moment, then throws something onto my chest when he gets back. I stare at the silver ring that tumbles down into the sheets.

"You brought it?" I ask, carefully touching it with a finger.

"Obviously?"

I look up from the diamonds embedded all around the ring to find him regarding me expectantly, arms crossed in front of his chest.

"Put it on," he says flatly, tapping his fingers impatiently. I try to suppress my smile, but it breaks out a second later while I remember that time he'd put the box onto the table in front of me, proposing.

"That's your job, isn't it?"

He can't argue with that, and he doesn't. Instead, Dael fishes the ring from the sheets, then gestures for me to move closer. I crawl towards the edge before I sit down on my legs, expectantly holding my hand out for him. When he actually gets to his knee in front of me, my heart dissipates into a horde of very hyperactive butterflies.

"Allorian Biscay, I hereby proclaim my love for you," he whispers and takes my hand to place a kiss onto its back before he slips the ring on. I glance aside, blushing.

"And let this ring remind you of that, and also the fact that your time whoring around has ended, and that I will kill anyone you touch inappropriately," he finishes solemly.

"You're unbelievable," I murmur, though I guess I deserve that. Still. "Don't act like you haven't-"

"I have not," he interrupts, then kisses his way up my ring finger until his lips meet the silver and gems. I stare at him, surprised.

"Never?"

"Never."

"Your wrist must be hurting."

He snorts. "That's all you have to say?"

I sigh, then shake my head. "Thank you. For staying faithful."

"Well, I'm expecting the same courtesy now that this ring is back on your finger."

I nod. My heart is aching so much for him. "I've really missed you, you know?"

"I missed you, too," he replies, smiling fondly.

Really, I guess spending eternity with him might not be too bad, after all. I'm sure we'll get into fights at one point or another, but we'll also always find our way back into each others arms.
