*AUTHORS NOTE*
I'm currently going through this story chapter by chapter and editing it as much as I can, fixing any plot holes and trying to tie up any loose ends. I wrote this story in 2012 with absolutely no writing experience and I want to clean it up because there's so many mistakes and a lot of it is just very cringe-worthy. From time-to-time some of the chapters will get unpublished while I edit them so I apologise for this in advance. Also, this story was very much rushed and not well thought out (hence the very short chapters) so I will try to edit this as I go through it, to make it a little more of a worthy read!

It was the last night before the next school year. Senior year. I can't say I wasn't nervous, I mean, senior year! The last year of your high school life! It's a pretty big deal if you ask me. So that's why my best friend Venice and I were standing in a bundle of clothing looking for an outfit for the next day.

"What about this?" I asked, holding up a cute summer dress.

"It's not summer anymore, Ally," Venice pointed out.

"Oh yeah..."

"You're so stupid sometimes," she laughed, and I couldn't help but join in because she was right. It was no secret that I didn't have the best memory.

"I can't believe summer is actually over," I sighed. It was like we blinked and suddenly we were back to school.

"I know," she agreed, "but it was fun while it lasted."

I nodded in agreement. She was right. I spent as much time away from the apartment as possible so that in itself was a boost for my mental health. Venice and I spent almost every day together finding something to do and enjoy the slightly-warmer-than-usual weather. It really was a good summer. I sighed in content as we reminisced over the last couple of months.

We eventually found suitable fall outfits to wear. I decided on a pair of high waist mom jeans and an oversized cropped sweater. I pulled the sweater down a little as I looked at my self in the mirror. It was cute. Nothing too over-the-top , but not too lame either. That was good enough for me.

"I heard there's gonna be a lot of new students this year," Venice said, interrupting my thoughts as she plopped down opposite me on her bed. "I hope at least one of them is cute."

"Who said they were even boys?" I laughed, noticing the dreamy expression on her face.

"There must be! There has to be! There's like 30 of them, at least one has to be a guy!" she argued. "I mean come on, our luck can't be that bad!"

I shook my head at her boy-obsessed ways but couldn't help but feel a little confused. Thirty new students? Since when did the school accept so many people at once?

"Yeah, that's the same face I had on when I heard there were that many newcomers." Venice said, reading my facial expression. "It's pretty weird, but who cares," she shrugged. "As long as at least one of them is cute, I sure as hell don't."

I laughed and hit her arm playfully. "All you ever think about is boys!"

"Girls!" Mrs Flow, Venice's mom, yelled up the stairs. "Get some sleep, you have to be up early tomorrow."

"Okay, mom!" Venice called back as I threw out a "goodnight!".

Not too long later we had both crawled under the covers and tried to get to sleep.

"Come on, Venice, or we're gonna be late!" I called from the driveway. Gosh, how long does it take that girl to brush her teeth?
