She kept her word when it came to giving me a recommendation. For the last three months I had been working under Khalid and it was the only silver lining in this whole thing. He knew my career goals so he made sure anytime he was doing something, I was involved in meeting the same people.

Other than seeing her in interviews or my parents bringing her up, Normani and I hadn't spoken. After she left the studio I tried nonstop for days to get in contact with her to no avail. Our parents were confused with the sudden part we had, but neither could get what happened out of either of us so they just dropped it.

Ally was furious with me at first, and still sort of is. But she could see just how much I was beating myself up for what happened so she calmed down with the lectures after a few days. Instead I threw myself into my work. Like right now we were at the Billboard Music Awards and I was running around trying to make sure Khalid had everything he needed before his performance.

"Hey I need you to go to a meeting for me."

"Uh.. how am I going to do that?"

He laughed a little before adding on.

"It's just a small one. Just ask about studio time. I have to get dressed."

"Okay if you say so."

He laughed at my dramatics, waving me off.

"It's room 1501 I think. If she don't show up just talk to her assistant. I need a estimate so I can see if our schedules align ever. This the only time I can get a good time slot for my manager."

I nodded walking to the room he said I had to be in. I knocked, pushing the door open more. The guy in the room turned around as I spoke.

"Hey, Khalid sent me. He's busy right now."

He nodded, finishing straightening something before he started walking out.

"Ms. Hamilton will be back momentarily."

I nodded before I turned to question him again.

"Wait Ms. who?"

He continued walking away ignoring my question. I sighed, sitting in a nearby chair. Hamilton is a popular last name right? It wouldn't actually be Normani. She doesn't even go by Hamilton. It can't be her.

I looked at the door as people walked in, closing my eyes for a second when I saw her friend Choie walk in first. I opened my eyes again as her parents reacted to me being here. I smiled, standing up as they got closer to hug me.

"Where have you been?"

"Around. Making connections I need."

"I miss you. You have to come around more."

Her mom said, hugging me again. I laughed, shrugging as she pulled back.

"Sorry Ma. I been busy. Actually it's one of the reasons I'm here."

With Choie being more Normani's friend, I wasn't shocked when she didn't say anything to me. Instead she whispered to Normani while her parents were talking to me.
