Half way through the night Gary kept tossing and turning unable to get comfortable. Maybe it was because he knew Rob was asleep on the couch downstairs or the fact he was just finding it hard to sleep. Turing onto his back and looking to the left he seen the empty side of the bed that usually kept him warm, held him when he couldn't sleep or just stayed up talking with but the past week has been different

Gently placing the ends of his fingers on the pillow beside him it felt so cold, unused. The older man cursed himself for feeling this way after a week apart, but mentally they've been separated for months. Sitting up in the bed and leaning against the headboard the northern man ran both hands down his face before laying them across his stomach

Hearing small whispers down the hall Gary instantly became concerned as they were coming from the kids bedroom. Moving the covers back and standing up in just his boxers he gently made his way down the corridor the small voices became louder and it became clearer that it was Oscar with Robbie. Tiptoeing near the door close enough to hear them but not close enough for him to be noticed Gary listened to the small whispers of his precious son with his husband

"Why aren't you at home anymore" Oscars sleepy voice filled the dark haired mans ears, holding him closer to his chest and running one hand through the soft brown hair robbie sighed sadly, it had only been a week but he didn't think about how the kids saw it. To them one week is ages and Robbie forgot what it was like to see the world through a child's eyes, he forgot time was exaggerated in their minds when in reality it was usually rather short

"Daddy just had some things to sort out mate okay? I promise I'm not gone forever" Robbie sadly smiled as Oscars head moved from his neck to look up at him with tired eyes and a warm smile that could ease anyone's pain away

"Promise?"

"I promise you Oscar" Robbies voice cracked on saying his sons name and hugged him tighter than he'd ever done before, wiping his eyes so the tears weren't visible to the little eyes peering up at him the popstars eyes caught the shadow watching them from the bedroom door, it broke his heart to think Gary was watching them and didn't come in

Picking the small boy up in his arms robbie carefully laid him back down into his bed before tucking him in and landing a love filled kiss on his forehead, turning out the night lamp in the room robbie slowly and quietly made his way out the room and came face to face his defeated husband

"I don't want to argue Gary, so I'll come back tomorrow to see the kids before a meeting with my manager" Robbie softly said as he went to walk past the older man, standing in amazement Gary's head snapped round to watch the taller man begin to make his way down the stairs in his denim jeans and light top, that kind of outfit is usually irresistible to Gary

Immediately jogging down the stairs in his low waisted shorts Gary gripped onto the younger mans arm instantly turning him around to face him, he landed chest first onto Gary's exposed chest and their eyes locked. The older mans heart was beating faster than it was on their wedding day and Robbie could tell he wanted to speak but all he wanted to do was kiss Gary's words away, make it all go away but he didn't want to chance Gary walking away again

"Rob...I never thought I could be so happy with anyone never-mind you, I didn't want to get so wrapped up in work that I absentmindedly forgot you back here with the kids, I didn't want that to happen!..."

"Gary, I know and I forgive you because I love you which is why I'll move out"

"What?! No! Just let me speak lad...I've taken my anger out on you because I instantly became furious with myself for almost neglecting you all" Gary fidget with his ring on his finger as he avoided eye contact with his husband, he was never really angry with anyone but himself for doing this to their marriage it was just easier to disguise it

"Where's all this coming from? A day ago you wouldn't even speak to me, it's confusing Gaz" Rob gently picked up his jacket off the stair case banister, holding it lightly in his hands robbie watched the tired and sad man in front of him let tears escape from his eyes as he began to speak

"Just...just watching you with Oscar just then, I've been so bloody stupid and I can't fix it Rob. I know you drank and I know you remember doing that but I automatically jumped to the conclusion of..you know...then it all got out of control" Gary shakily said taking his hands to rub the tears away from his eyes to try and hide he was crying "...I get if you want to leave, I would too I just want you to know I love you, I'm sorry and I believe you. It took me awhile to actually think about what happened but I believe you"

Standing there in shock at the fact Gary just said he believes him robbie dropped his jacket back over the banister and lightly smiled

"You believe me? Gary you're not fuckin around are you?!" Taking one step further towards the shorter man Robbie took the chance to bring his hands over Gary's slightly shaking ones, not taking the time to even wait for Gary's answer he pressed his covered torso up against Gary's bare one before he slowly pressed his lips against Gary's

Taking a sharp breath in at the sudden touch Gary inhaled deeply but this time he didn't move away, hands quickly became part of the equation as the older mans hand gripped the centre of Robbies black top tightly and the younger mans hands were occupied in the golden brown hair controlling the kiss to some degree, walking them back carefully robbie slowly backed Gary up against the wall beside the stairs

Feeling their heartbeats begin to align Gary tipped his head back against the wall as Robbie pulled back from the kiss with the older mans bottom lip between his teeth making Gary's shorts tighten slightly but enough for the younger man to realise

"Never ever think it's too late to call me because I'll always answer Gary" Robbie mumbled millimetres from Gary's mouth smiling like a teen, lightly kissing his check the northern man composed himself after what has to be one of the most intense kisses in their relationship

"Never ever think you can't speak to me because I'll always listen Robbie"

With that both men engaged in another intoxicating kiss as their bodies done the talking for them...
