It earned its fame for its nine tails. The ghost is said to be mastering evil skills. In its earlier years, it had only one tail. As it lived on for over 500 years, it's tail spread into two. As it's tail spread into nine, the kumiho is said to be immortal. With its Beauty, it seduces men to absorb their energy. If a kumiho eats the livers of 100 individuals, or get Married with a men for 100 days with revealing its true identity, It would turn into a human being.

Koreans believe that water ghosts are all over the waters. Twice the height of the human's, the water ghosts covers its sharp eyes with its Long hair. Its body is always wet and has a bad odour. The water ghost pulls swimmers or walkers onshore into deep waters to drown them to death.
