Act Two - Credo in Arce

[Under your gaze, I surrendered. Following through in nauseating spirals, you ushered me along like a doll with your judging stare. If I were as cruel and twisted as you decreed, then surely, I would have never let you tear off my wings and trap me within this castle of bones]

Desire was a caustic thought that stole from the hearts of many. For as soon as one was consumed with the thought, it overrode the mind and consumed the soul. Perhaps that was why the humble were the most peaceful one could ever find, and those of higher prestige always sought more from everything that surrounded them.

A splinter of light shone through the dark, peppering shadows that stretched out and defined the chaos of the mind. And through it all, she felt like she was falling.

Falling from the skies, falling down below the earth. Through the lashing winds that grazed her face and scattered the last remnants of her tattered wings, all she could do was reach upwards to the heavens and watch as the blood-streaked skies faded from her reach.

She lay in bed, staring up at her darkened ceiling in listless splendor, and wondered when her fall was about to be broken with debilitating force. For what goes up, must surely come crashing back down to earth.
