{Chapter 18. Just My Type}

~3rd Person~

The bell rings and Olivia gets up from their bench with Blaire. They walk out of the courtyard and into the crowded halls talking about their plans this afternoon. Julian and his group of friends walk in front of them, chatting and not paying them any attention. Olivia lets out a thankful sigh and grabs her bag from her locker. She turns to look at Blaire who was staring at the back of James head with a sort of worn out anger and sadness. They haven't talked about what happened at the sleepover, she'd just found her friend in the bathroom crying so much that she decided not to ask.

"You want to talk about it?" Olivia asked her, trying to do one thing right in her life and give her best friend some support.

Blaire bites her bottom lips and mumbles a no. She waves goodbye when Blaire gets in her car then returns inside to find empty hallways. She stops when she hears a familiar voice coming from inside her Chemistry classroom. Making her steps quiet she listens next to the open door, trying to make out why Julian was here and what he was saying.

"...I know it's too late to change, but I really need to switch my lab partner!"

"Mr. Baker, it's far into the semester already, it would be extremely difficult to make any adjustments."

"But there is a possibility," And now he sounds so desperate that Olivia almost shrinks, wanting a black hole to just suck her out of there. Why did he want to switch? Was he that mad at her?

Miss. Johnson lets out an exhausted sigh, "I suppose I could try, but does Mrs. Baker agree to this as well."

Julian stutters over his words, "Uh-I...Um."

"Actually Miss, I do agree. The best idea we could agree on actually," That's when Olivia steps into the lab, startling the teacher a bit. Miss Johnson looks curiously at the both of them and Julian is biting his nails so fast.

"Very well. I'll arrange it. Any reason why?" She asks them, tapping her pen on her desk intently. When both of them stay quiet she lets them leave and by the time they do Olivia is horrified and disgusted.

"Olivia," He calls her name but she storms off, making her way to the doors.

"Olivia!" Still no answer. She just scoffs walking faster now.

"Liv!" And that's all it takes for her to turn to him with the fiercest expression.

"What?! What do you want!" Julian stops too, knowing his boundaries.

"I just want to talk."

"No, you don't. You know what I want nothing to do with you, so just take your petty little mouth somewhere else!" Sometimes, she was glad she had such a short temper.

"Come on, it's not why I talked to Miss—"

"Oh, just sod off Baker!" Olivia spins on her heel and walks to who knows where.

"Not using my name huh?!" But she's already around the corridor, happy when she doesn't hear his footsteps following her. But some part of her aches for him to be right behind her, to hold her in his arms until she finally breaks. But every day she has to remind herself that it wont happen, that this isn't a fairy tale or that he has a girlfriend that he loves.
