Last Chapter! :(
I heard your sirens call,
It was beautiful
I am drowning but,
Please don't save me
{Chapter 26. In Too Deep}
~Olivia~
Song after song we danced through the night, and it felt more to me than a simple thing like prom, it felt as if we were both walking on clouds. With his fingers around my waist, so soft and delicate like I was a feather, someone that he had to protect, made me shiver. He dragged me into a world where all I saw was him.
He frowned all of a sudden and felt in his pocket for his phone, "Hello?... What?! Are you sure?... I'll be there right away."
Hanging up the phone he glanced at me, "That was from the hospital... They said she's waking up." His sister, Bree, she was in a coma for more than a year. And she was about to wake up, right now.
"I have to go, I'm so sorry," He apologized but I grabbed his arm and looked at him with as much fierceness and said, "I'm coming with you."
He didn't speak twice after I said those few words and so we were both rushing out, pushing past people, and to the car before anyone could say otherwise. Julian drove so fast that I had to hold on to the handle until my palm turned red. When I looked at him he looked so relieved like all the world just dropped from his shoulders.
"It's okay, she'll be okay."
"You didn't have to come, I ruined the night, I'm sorry."
My eyes widened, "No. You didn't ruin anything. It was all so... magical. Thank you."
"You don't know how badly I want to kiss you right now," He breathed out.
I rolled my eyes, flushing a bit, "Keep your eyes on the road."
I just rubbed his shoulder soothingly, only trying to be there for Julian. He deserved as much.
We reached the hospital just as another car parked next to us. I realized that the bunch of people climbing out crying with smiles on their faces it was Julian's family. They all ran up the stairs and past the doors until I was chasing after them. Not even stopping to sign in at the registration office, they barged past every person and ran to one room.
The whole family was inside, but I found Julian standing frozen at the door, a hand over his mouth.
He was crying as he stared into the room, crying so much. I held his hand and gave him a smile before heading inside with everyone else, there was a doctor and a nurse standing beside a hospital bed. A girl no younger than six was sitting up on the bed crying even more, probably tired, confused and just happy to see familiar faces.
Julian walked slowly to the bed and then Bree finally looked at her older brother, cuddling a fluffy bear in her hands. "Jules?"
And then he grabbed her into a hug, squeezing her while she cried onto his shoulder. I stood awkwardly by the door but I couldn't help but tear up too, they had lost one of their siblings for how long and could've waited their whole lives until she woke up. But this was a miracle.
Everyone huddled in for a hug and everyone was balling their eyes out, Julian was whispering into his sister's ears and kissing her everywhere around her face. After almost half an hour the mother left with the doctor to know when Bree can be released, the rest stayed. One of them taking pictures and typing furiously on her phone, the twins sat on her bed to play and Julian on the chair next to Bree, laughing and crying in joy.
Then he looked at me with his puffy red eyes and everything I wanted to say to him vanished, holding my hand in his large one, he stood by his sister's bed and whispered, "There's someone I'd like you to meet."
I leaned down and gave her a sweet smile, "Hi." I waved.
Bree looked at Julian then at me, "Are you his girlfriend?"
I burst out laughing and Julian chuckled, ruffling Bree's hair a bit, "Not if she doesn't want to be."
Then I stop, and turn to Julian in shock, "What?" His face had splotches of tears drying on his face when he went on one knee dramatically, I was utterly speechless. This boy, I laughed.
"Olivia Woods," He linked his fingers in mine and my mouth was open agape, this wasn't real, it couldn't be, "Will you be my girlfriend." He stood up then, and I didn't think he could look more handsome. I didn't care if he threw me a grand gesture, or even that we were in a hospital.
"Julian Baker..." I stepped closer until our bodies were pressed together, "You didn't even have to ask."
Then his lips were on mine and I felt like I was on fire. His warmth spread from my mouth to my toes and I kissed him back passionately and this kiss seemed different, more certain as our mouth merged into one and I had to stop a bit to breath.
"This is so cliché," I giggled into his ear.
"Who cares," He growled, biting my earlobe lightly and then moving down to place kisses on my neck—
"Ehem, PG13 please!" Skylar coughed, rolling her eyes as she began to type again. Scar and Mason danced around the room singing, "Jules and Olivia sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"
And that was my happily after... Instead of the prince charming I get the school jock. Instead of riding a horse into the sunset I chose riding on a motorcycle through the city. And instead of becoming a princess in a castle, I become his princess and he my prince.
So you see, I told you it's not the whole 'pretty girl meets handsome hunk- he breaks her heart' blah blah blah. This is my story and it's time for it to come to an end. But don't worry I'll be back...
