What the wanker dad? And of all the things you leave me a rock? A bloody rock!

Sighing in anger Emoriah skimmed her fingertip lightly over the rock's surface. But a sharp zapping pinch at her skin had her flinching back from the cursed rock and mildly tossing it back in its leather prison.

Okay ouch! That hurt.

Emoriah stood from her bed and placed the pouch at her nightstand, away from her but not hidden from sight.

The blasted stone wasn't even sparkly or luminous. Instead, it was a lovely murky brown.

How fantastic.

"Emmy, your tucker is ready." Emoriah's Aunt yelled from the hallway, startling Emoriah from her thoughts.

"Okay, I'll be right there."

Emoriah inhaled the delicious aromas emanating from the sizzling pan on the stove.

Man, when was the last time she had a home cooked meal?

Then again, her mother burnt everything she tried to make. So, it was either Emoriah's pre-made scrumptious meals. Or out to eat, which was very rare.

Emoriah watched amusedly, as her aunt danced around the kitchen with light steps, as she added more spices and vegetables to the pan.

It was only a few more minutes before Emoriah followed her Aunt Jane to the table. Emoriah sat down at the wooden table her eyes wide, as she took in the mouth-watering lunch in front of her.

"It's a beetroot Hamburger. Go on, it won't bite ya."

Emoriah didn't waste a second before wrapping her slender fingers around the warm buns of the hamburger and lifting it to her mouth.

A splicing savory taste awakened her sleeping taste buds, as she closed her eyes and hummed in content. There was no way she was going back to pre-made meals.

"Aunt Jane this Hamburger is splendid," Emoriah said, glancing from her burger to meet her Aunts waiting gaze.

"Thank you, my dear. My boyfriend doesn't feel the same I'm afraid." Jane said, glancing back down to her lap.

Emoriah studied the dejected expression upon her aunts face worriedly.

Then why are you dating that ungrateful git? Though from her aunt's saddened manner she could tell it was more than just hurt feelings from her boyfriend's opinions.

What was she hiding?

"Well, that's rude of him, because this is the best burger I have ever tasted."

After finishing her flavorous meal Emoriah helped clean the tainted dishes in the sink. Gripping the wet sponge in her hand she gazed out the window and spotted the sandy beach and crashing waves of the ocean.

Her Aunt must have caught her desirous glance towards the soft sand for she grabbed the sponge from Emoriah's hand and tenderly kicked her from the house.

"Be back before seven."

Thick salty air flushed Emoriah's cheeks, as her bare feet sunk into the soft sand with each step. The cawing of birds above her was quite different from the little pigeons back in London, though they still calmed the racing nerves throughout her body.

Emoriah noticed the prolonged stares at her back the moment she left the back door. Their gossiping whispers hushed, as she moved past each group playing along the beach.
