Jiwon's POV

Mom and Jisoo's Mother: Oh my god!

We instantly looked up to see our mothers looking at us with shocked faces.

Jiwon: It's not what you think mom.

I chuckled and we got away from each other.

Mom: So what were you two doing?

Jisoo: We were cleaning the house because it was dirty.

Jisoo's Mother: Dirty? How can it be dirty ?

Jisoo: We-

To prevent her from revealing our secret to our mothers, I put my hand on her lips. And I must say... Her lips were very soft.

Jiwon: Uh yes. Because we were busy with school, so we couldn't properly clean the house these past weeks. Right, Jisoo?

I glanced at her uneasy face, telling her; Play along, don't tell them the truth, and removed my hand from her mouth.

She understood and averted her gaze to the two ladies who were eyeing us suspiciously.

Jisoo: Exactly, with exams just around the corner, we didn't pay attention to things other than work.

I hummed in agreement.

Mom: Oh that's great. I am proud of you dear.

She said, only referring to Jisoo.

Jiwon: What about me, Mom? Aren't you proud of your son?

Jisoo's POV

I quietly snorted.

Study? Him!?

Actually I don't know but gossips about him at school don't include studies . It's only about basketball wonders and flawless body.

Jiwon's Mother: I know you well son... Don't pretend to be what you are not.

She mocked him, making my mother and I giggle at an embarrassed Jiwon.

Aww~ So cute- Ugh... I need to stop.

Mom: By the way, we have something important to tell you.

We nodded and invited them to have a seat on the couch, which I meticulously dusted earlier.

We sat on the sofa, in front of them, and they began their speeches.

Mom: As you know, being a married couple involves having many responsibilities.

Jisoo: We aren't married yet.

Jiwon's Mother: You will soon be, dear daughter-in-law.

The nickname gave me chills. It was strange to be called daughter-in-law at the age of 19.

Mom: As I was saying, you two will obviously not attend university or pursue dreams you had planned, but inherit of the companies right after your graduation. Don't worry, you will have time to adjust and learn how the company is managed.

I nodded but Jiwon hastily stood up with an annoyed facial expression.

Jiwon: Are you kidding me? Mom! You always said I could become a producer and rapper when I grow up! Now you are telling me to live like dad, like a slave, like a captive, who sits in an office all day long signing papers!? Bullshit! Wasn't getting me married to a stranger without my consent enough!? You also want to take my dream away? You can't do that!

Jiwon's Mother: Jiwon! Don't you dare raise your voice at me! Forget these futile dreams! How are you planning to make a living out of silly ambitions!? Producing music? Rapping? Son are you crazy! You are Kim Jiwon! And as a Kim, you will inherit of your father's company, live a steady life with your family and earn a lot of money.

The tension was rising. I didn't expect this argument to go this far. My mom and I were only watching Jiwon and his mother fighting. He balled his fists and gritted his teeth.

He was pissed off.

Jiwon: Money... ALWAYS MONEY!? Don't you care about your son!? No! You never did, even if I always listened to you and did all the stupid things you wanted me to do. Study in LA, I did. Marry the daughter of the Kims, I did! Wha-

Frozen.

His mother slapped him.

Jiwon's Mother: Consider yourself lucky it wasn't your dad. You would not want to end up like last time... Stop thinking about these idiotic ideas and get a hold of yourself. I'll be leaving, Jiwon.

His mother walked to the door, followed by mine, who gave me a worried look before exiting the house. I averted my eyes to Jiwon. His fingers were still firmly pressed against his palms and he was looking down.

Jiwon: I always hated that name ...

He finally let out.

Wait. What?

Jisoo: What do you mean?
