[7] group projects suck

The bell rang for last period it was science for Jerry Gilbert and Anne. Anne dreaded the moment she would have to face Gilbert. But he didn't sit with her he sat with Violet a sudden ping of jealousy went through her but she let it slid. She ended up walking over to Jerry.
"Good afternoon class," Ms. Stacy said eagerly everyone said good afternoon back
"If you haven't heard already we are doing a group project, I will be announcing the groups shortly once I find that darn list," she began searching for the list in her desk giving the class a few minutes to chat amongst themselves
"Hi I'm Gilbert, Gilbert Blythe," he introduced himself to Violet hoping to catch Anne's eye
"Oh, uh I'm Violet Morganson," she replied pushing her hair out of her face
"Nice to meet you, Violet," he said giving her his award-winning smile Anne rolled her eyes
"He's insane," she said Jerry looked at her listening intently, "If he thinks he's going to make me jealous by introducing himself to some girl he's got another thing coming," she continued
"Ok, I have the list, Billy, Tillie, Megan, and Ethan. John, Josh, Eddie, and Bobby. Carter, Scarlett, Nora, and Ash. Anne, Gilbert, Jerry, and let's see here a new girl Violet Morganson?"Ms. Stacy announced the groups Violet nodded
"Well I guess we're in a group together Mr, Blythe," she teased Gilbert smiled a fake smile
"I guess we are Ms. Morganson," He mimicked her smiling
"I am so not jealous," Anne complained, "he thinks he's going to make me jealous by flirting with her he's gonna have to do a lot more than that,"
"So I was thinking maybe we could go ice skating Tuesday my friends and I were going as a group and I was wondering maybe we could go together," he said winking at Anne she blushed and quickly looked away
"That would be nice," she gushed over his curls wanting to run her fingers through them
"Great!" he fist-bumped in the air
"Ok maybe it's working," she admitted to Jerry he laughed at her
"Of course it is maybe you should tell him before you-I mean someone gets hurt," Jerry advised the girl but she didn't listen
"I won't get hurt trust me," she replied confidence in her voice but she was so so very wrong
The bell rang one last time meaning school was over everyone quickly rushed out of the classroom. Anne walked to her locker forgetting she had to walk home alone for the first time in a long time. She put in her combination and grabbed her jacket and bag and ran out.
"Anne! Anne wait!" someone called the redhead just kept running
"Anne!" They yelled again Anne turned around tears streaming down her face
"What Diana?" She cried looking at her friend people had crowded around them
"Can we talk?" Diana asked Anne began to laugh hysterically
"You want to talk? With me? Oh I don't think so," She barked Diana didn't want to start anything but it looks like she had no choice
"I get it your angry you have every right to be angry," Diana began she was thinking of what to say next
"Oh, I am not angry! I am in pain and you put me here you were supposed to be my best friend but you chose her you promised me, Diana, you promised me!" Anne yelled Diana stepped closer. "Wh-Why couldn't you choose me?" she stuttered tears started dripping down her face. "I am sorry Anne," she calmly said she felt so bad for hurting Anne. "No your not because you did it in second grade and you did it in 6th and now you're doing it again!" Anne was so angry she just couldn't hold it in. "You were wrong Diana being nice did hurt someone! It hurt me! It hurt Ruby! And it hurt you! But obviously, I don't matter anymore so just go away," she yelled turning around and walking away. She heard footsteps running after her. "Anne!" Jerry yelled catching up to her, she couldn't stop crying she fell to her knees clutching her stomach. 

"I can't, I can't do it anymore! I can't keep pretending I'm ok," she cried Jerry started to tear up Diana and the girls rushed over so did Gilbert and Violet. "Jerry, I don't want this, I just want to go home," she sobbed he bent down and hugged her she cried into his shoulder
He sat there in the cold snow letting her cry his jacket was soaked by her tears. Everyone felt so bad for the girl even Josie and Billy felt some sympathy for the girl. Jerry began rubbing her back. Gilbert just watched her frozen maybe Charlie was right. Maybe this is a bad idea but it's too late now.
"Group projects suck," Anne joked she laughed weakly before she had fallen asleep in Jerry's arms for the first time she was having a good dream. "Look at what you assholes have caused, the girl hasn't gotten a good nights sleep for god knows how long and what your doing is letting her sit alone trying to make her jealous, and causing a scene in front of everyone!" He yelled he surprisingly didn't wake Anne, he glanced at Diana and Gilbert then at the others they all felt bad for what they had caused well everyone except Ruby which was so unlike her
"And your not even going to explain yourselves, wow some friends she has, huh?" He added before storming off carrying her bridal style home. 
He was admiring her beauty when he realized the sun was setting he had forgotten that day was one of the shortest during the year he began to run to Green Gables meeting Mathew at the fence. "What a surprise Jerry it's been a while huh?" Mathew began before he noticed Anne
"Anne? What happened?" He asked looking at Jerry he shook his head crying. "She uh she's just sleeping there were issues at school, I better get home," Jerry explained quickly Mathew stopped him
"It's already dark out stay the night I'll call your parents and tell them you're here," Mathew smiled at the boy it was his way of thanking him for protecting his daughter. Jerry brought Anne into the house sitting down with her own the couch. He stroked her hair before he had eventually fallen asleep. Marilla and Mathew were in awe of how cute the kids were. She wondered why Anne hadn't liked Jerry all these years. And maybe Anne was even wondering it too at this point.

sorrry i haven't posted in a while my mom lost my phone... ANY WAY, I CAN'T BELIEVE WE GOT 1K READS AHHHHHH SKSKSK. also, I promise there will be some shirbert in the next chapters.
