Walking in on people isn't exactly a new thing in our house. I'd had my fair share of walking in on people. I'd walked in on my parents before but nothing compared to the shock of walking in on Joseph with a girl that was definitely not his girlfriend. I'd just come back from one of Jensen's sleepovers (it was the seventh grade) and was about to ask Joseph if he wanted to play Uno with me. I usually asked Drew but he was on vacation so Joseph was the only one I could ask. My dad was at work and my mom had went to the grocery store. I told her I didn't want to go so there I was, sitting in the living room bored. I grabbed the box of cards and climbed the stairs to Joseph's room. The door was closed but like any other little sister instead of knocking, I just opened the door.
I was shocked to find my brother pressed against some chick who was resting against the wall kissing him. Worst of all, she wasn't even his girlfriend. I let out a high pitched squeak dropping the cards. He stops kissing her and looked at me. "SKY! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" he yells. I ran away quickly trying to get the image out of my head. It's not hard to imagine what must've happened after that. I swear the girl was a slut. You'd think having someone's little sister walk in on you would be a mood killer but she stuck around for another hour or two and THEN snuck out of the side door because our mom had come home. It was as I was sitting there watching an episode of That's 70's Show while our mom was cooking that Joseph came and sat down next to me.
"Um Sky, what you saw earlier... Just um forget that it ever happened... okay? Don't tell mom and dad and don't tell my girlfriend... I don't really like Jamie, she's just a good friend..." Joseph tells me. What did he think I was five or something? "Okay..." Is all I say and then I continue watching Kelso prank everyone. Joseph sits there for a long time just staring at me as if trying to make sure I'd keep it a secret. And I did... Okay maybe not to EVERYONE because I did tell Drew, Amber, and a lot of his future girlfriends about it but I kept it from the one that mattered and that was the thing. Even though Joseph and I never got along, I was there for him and we knew we could count on each other. Since then Joseph's been a lot more careful about his hookups. If only I were as careful as him...
