POEM #1-The Story
You blew your chance with me.
You lost already.
You threw me away for her.
I was nothing more than a prize.
I was a trophy for you to show off.
You cared more about your image than us.
You threw me away when you left.
You left for her because she gave you what I couldn’t.
She gave you what I wouldn’t.
You left for her because she’s a better prize.
Something you can brag about.
You let for her because she’s not me.
You left me because I’m to imperfect.
You left me because I wouldn’t let you run over me.
Now you want to leave her for me?
You gave up on us all those years ago.
It’s too late for you to come back.
It’s never going to work for us.
Go find another prize.
Go waist someone else’s time.
The promises we made to each other mean nothing.
You broke them all when you left.
They are now empty meaningless words.
I said I loved you and I meant it.
What about you?
I promised to see you.
You never wanted to see me.
I wasn’t important enough anymore.
I’m just the story you tell your kids.
The one you tell about your first real mistake.
When people ask about the tattoo over your heart.
Im the story about the one that got away.
I’m the story you’ll never forget.
I’m your first and last true love.
