POEM#4-I’m Not Perfect

I love that you’re always pointing out what I’m doing wrong.

How no matter what I do I’m always wrong.

I’m not the perfect person you saw me as.

I’m the mistake you wish you never made.

The reason you don’t want to come home.

I’m the disappointment you’re ashamed of.

I’m the child noone wants.

I’m the life that never should have started.

I’m the life that should have ended long ago.

I’m the life that should have been lost instead of hers.

I should have left instead of her.

I am the imperfection in this world.

I am the unwanted, the beaten, the broken.

I am the alien.

I am unwanted, the unwelcome, the forgotten.
