Yu Hao stood in front of his closet at 6pm, about an hour before the party was to begin. He would walk over and pick up Zi Xuan at about 6:45, and they would drive to the party together, in Zi Xuan's mom's vehicle. His parents were going out tonight, and expected to be home very late.

But first, he had to decide what to wear.

A hoodie? Too casual.

A button up? Too dressy.

His eye was caught on a blue sweatshirt in the back of his closet. Reaching his hand out, he grabbed it, studying it slowly. Taking off the shirt he had on with one hand, he put it on, looking at himself in the mirror once he was finished.

It fit well, hugging his waist and shoulders. The sweatshirt was a pastel light blue, with patch of a cactus on the corner of it. Yu Hao couldn't quite remember why he bought it, or what for. But he did like it.

He headed to the bathroom, brushing his teeth so they would be extra white, and spraying a bit of cologne on his neck. He wanted tonight to be amazing, something Zi Xuan would remember forever.

After picking a quick overnight bag, he prepared to go. It would take him about ten minutes to walk to Zi Xuan's house, so he left, slightly anxious to get there. He walked fast pace, arriving five minutes early and walking up to Zi Xuan's door. He took a deep breath in, raising his fist up to knock on the door.

The door swung open, and Yu Hao came face to face with a grinning Qian Rui, Zi Xuan's little sister. Yu Hao took a step back, avoiding her too-close gaze.

"Hi Yu Hao." She grinned. "Zi Xuan is just upstairs. You can come in if you'd like."
He smiled, swallowing slightly nervously and walking in.

Zi Xuan's house wasn't huge, but it was bigger than his. And quite nicer. The colours were mostly white and green, and it made the place look very zen and relaxing. He sat on the light green couch, trying to stay at least three feet away from Qian Rui.

She grinned at him. "You and Zi Xuan are together now, right?"

"Yeah, we are." He smiled small-ly. "Sorry about that... I guess." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh, that's okay." She smiled weakly. "Just... when you guys get married, please invite me too the wedding." Yu Hao laughed at that, not able to control himself. He wasn't quite sure if it was because of the thought of getting married to Zi Xuan or the fact that she thought Zi Xuan wouldn't invite her. Of course he would, with his 'sister complex' he had made fun of him for.

Zi Xuan ran down the stairs, still hurrying to get the buttons done up on his shirt. And wow. He looked good.

A dark, almost mahogany red button down, with organized dark blue dots, accompanied by blue skinny jeans. His hair was combed nicely, and, surprisingly, he wasn't wearing his very characteristic circle-rimmed black glasses.
Yu Hao was taken aback. He wasn't sure what to say. The only thing that came out of his mouth was "where's your glasses?"

He cursed himself for saying that, but Zi Xuan laughed anyway.

"I'm wearing contacts, don't worry." He smiled, giving Yu Hao the up-down. "You look amazing."

Yu Hao glanced down as if he forgot what he had worn, then back up at Zi Xuan, obviously flustered. "You too."

Zi Xuan almost took Yu Hao's hand before a voice made him jump back.

"Zi Xuan!" His mother yelled. "We are leaving. Please be back by midnight. Qian Rui will be watching." She smiled at Yu Hao. "So nice to meet you, Yu Hao. Make sure Zi Xuan doesn't bring back a girlfriend... and keep him out of trouble!" She joked, making Yu Hao blush. He was already planning to break both of those rules.

"Okay! Have fun!" He smiled, and they waited for the car to drive out of the garage. The moment the garage door shut, Zi Xuan turned to Yu Hao.

"Ready to go?" He held out his hand, which Yu Hao happily took, standing up from the couch.
"Yes, of course."
