Veronica's eyes fluttered open. Still slow from sleep, She groggily turned her head and looked at her alarm clock. Bright crimson numbers read 8:13am. Ugh, she was so glad it was Saturday. And even more glad that her boyfriend lay asleep beside her. She turned to look at him and smiled softly. He looked so... peaceful when he was asleep. Almost like his tough and dark persona disappeared and was replaced with this innocent and fragile boy. She laughed to herself as she saw him stir and open his eyes groggily.
"Good morning..." He whispered as he shifted his position into his back.
"Morning, sleepyhead. Time to get up."
"Nooooo... but it's Saturday." He pouted, causing Veronica to snicker.
"You're so cute when you're half asleep like this..." She said, running a hand through his raven hair and curling it around her finger. He frowned.
"I'm not cute, I'm manly."
Veronica snorted.
"You're just like a baby, I swear."
"Yeah but you love meeeee..."
She chuckled.
"If you say so..."
