Second Chances

Chapter 10

Olivia woke up the next morning with her arm wrapped around Elliot's chest and her head resting on his shoulder. She smiled as Elliot opened one eye and smirked at her.  
"Morning Princess." Elliot said turning his head to kiss her.
"Princess?" Olivia giggles a bit and kissed him back. Her phone buzzes next to the two of them. She reached over to the side of her and grabbed it swiping right. 

"Benson" she answered with a smile
"Hey mom" Ava said on the other line 
"Hi girly, do you want me to pick you up now? its a little early." She said looking at the clock which read "7:28"
"Um, yea... can you pick me up please." Ava whispered in the phone.
"Baby, whats wrong?" 
"Okay, yea you can pick up Andrew from his friends!" Ava exclaimed, totally off topic.
"Ava whats going on. Cough if your in trouble." Olivia said shooting out of bed and putting a robe on. Ava coughed into the phone. 
"Baby stay with me please." Olivia said as she grabbed her car keys and went out the door leaving Elliot speechless.
"Okay, ill see you in a few minutes. love you too mom." Ava said and hung up. 
"No! Ava!" Olivia yelled as she ran to her car, turning it on and driving as fast as she could to save her daughter. 


Minutes later she arrived at the same house where she dropped off Ava. She walked out of the car and rang the doorbell. Ava's friend answered and invited Olivia inside
"Hey hun, where's Ava?" Olivia asked the small girl
"Oh, she just had to grab a few things from downstairs. She should be up soon." Ava's friend said. Just then Ava came running up the stairs, fixing her shirt.  

"Thank you so much for inviting me over Kenna, it was so fun!" 
"No problem! We should do this again!" Kenna exclaimed 
"Yes!" 
"Okay bu-bye" Kenna said closing her front door. Ava hugged her mom tightly and Olivia hugged her back. "Love, what happened whats wrong?" Olivia said hugging her thin daughter 
"I'll tell you later." Ava said with a blank expression. They got in the car and drove back to their home. 

The two beautiful girls walked into the house and Ava went to her room, closing the door behind her. Elliot came walking into the living room  "Is she okay?" he asked kissing Olivia lightly and sitting on the sofa. 
"I don't know El, she won't tell me anything." 
"Well what happened?"
"She was in trouble, I know that."
"Do you think she's being honest?" Elliot asked 
"Of course I do! Elliot I know she wasnt faking it. I could hear her voice, there's no faking the terrified look on her face when I saw her."
"What do you think happened baby?" 
"I dont even want to think about it." Olivia said rubbing her eyes and then walked to the kitchen, pulling out a bottle of red wine from her wine rack.
"Liv, its barely 8:10, dont you think its a little early for that?" 
"Your right, a mimosa, accept not with champagne, i'm not that bougie. We'll use vodka instead." 
Elliot laughed, "liv." He said 
"What?" Olivia said pouring the vodka into the orange juice. 
"Make me one too." Elliot smiled 
"Okay" she smiled back mixing the orange juice and vodka, adding a few ice cubes and handed it to Elliot. She made hers soon after and sat down back down on the couch with her extremely handsome love interest. 

After watching a movie and snuggling, Elliot decided it was time for him to leave. They said their goodbyes, kissing each other lightly on the lips and hugging. 

Once Elliot left Olivia knocked on Ava's door lightly "hey baby, Elliots gone, im gonna watch a movie in my room if you wanna join, I can make us popcorn and we can order Chinese if you want." Olivia said lightly incase she was sleeping. Ava opened the door lightly with red watery eyes. 
"Oh baby!" Olivia says hugging her. Ava begins to cry into her mothers shoulder 
"Sweetheart, what happened. Can you tell me now?" Olivia said grabbing her head and pulling it into her chest. 
"I- I-" Ava tried to get out, but her tears were too much. 
"Baby, breathe love. breathe." She said stroking the back of her daughters head. 
Ava took some rippled deep breaths and let then out with more tears. 

After a couple more minutes of deep breaths her tears finally subsided. All that crying terrified Olivia a lot  what, who hurt her so bad that she's hurting so bad?  
Olivia wondered as she held her very hurt daughter. 
"Are you okay love?" she finally broke the silence. 
"I think so." Ava's voice quivered. 
"What happened." 
"I- he- t-t" Ava stuttered with tears in her eyes. 
"Who is he honey?" Olivia asked grabbing her hand.
"Kenna's dad. h-he touched me."  a single tear toppled down her blood filled cheek. 
"Oh god, where baby, where did he touch you?" Olivia's eyes welled with tears, she held them back trying not to cry.
"Everywhere." Ava said with a blank expression. she was staring at the abstract painting on the wall. A tear fell from each eye and lightly dripped down her face and stopped at the bottom of her chin. 
"Did he just touch you? Did he rape you Ava" Olivia's voice cracked as she said "Rape" 
"No." Ava said, face still blank and progressively getting more pail. No tears this time. 
"Oh thank God." Olivia whispered under her breath. "Now honey, I need specifics if were gonna press char-" She was cut off 
"No!" Ava quickly shifted her head to Olivia, taking in a breath. 
"Honey, you want him to go away for what he did right?" Olivia said placing her hand on Avas forearm. 
"Don't touch me! And nothing happened! okay?!" Ava got up and ran to her room, slamming the door behind her. Ava fell against the door, sliding down it. She put her head  in her knees and cried. 


Olivia accepted that Ava wanted to be alone and ordered Chinese food. She went to her room and turned on a TV show to binge.  Once the doorbell rang Olivia got up to get the food she ordered. She pulled out her meal as well as the one she ordered for Ava, just incase. She took her food and knocked on Ava's door lightly once again. 
"Hi lovey, there's some orange chicken and rice on the counter if your hungry. I love you." she was gonna say something else but, decided to keep it short and sweet. 
Olivia climbed in bed and resumed her show. 
Only minutes later Ava walked out of her room and grabbed the food. She walked towards Olivia's room and stood in the doorway, deciding on if she should go in or not. Olivia saw Ava in her peripheral vision. 
"I'm sorry. I didnt mean to blow up like that." Ava said walking over to the bed. 
"Honey, its okay. When I heard that I went into detective mode. You dont have to press charges sweetheart. We'll just play it by year." Olivia smiled and so did Ava. 
"Oh, what are u watching?" Ava asked 
"The Breakfast Club" Ava laughed taking a bite from her orange chicken. 


Later on that night they continued watching movies and talking 
"Oh my God, why did she do that?! UR STUUUPIDDD" Ava screamed at the TV. Olivia couldn't help but laugh. They both fell asleep watching "Home Alone, Lost in New York" 
Before Ava fell asleep she whispered to Liv, "I love you too"  and then fell asleep.
