Cheryl's POV:
"Kimberley Walsh?" Kimberley pulls me up from the chairs we've been uncomfortably sat on for the past few hours, waiting to hear the results of Kimberley's test they did earlier on today.
"Take a seat ladies." We both sit at the opposite side of the large, dark, wooden desk in the very expensive looking office.
"How are we?"
"That all depends on the results."
"Well you're incident yesterday didn't help matters but we've got some news for you both."
"Good?"
"Great." I sigh in relief and hold Kimberley's hand tighter.
"Our original prediction of March has seemed to have extended."
"It has?!"
"Yeah, we think maybe you could go for July but we've found something. It's a big offer, it's possible but it isn't guaranteed.
"What is it?"
"It's an operation, we try and take it out. It's been successful with 6 people before-"
"And how many unsuccessful?"
"24 but i'm not going to lie, it'll make things hard but you've got it in you Kimberley. You could do this and it could all be over. The operations in America, sorry to say but an expensive clinic-"
"She'll do it!" I shout as Kimberley rags on my hand.
"No, no i won't! Cheryl i need to sort things out first, read more into it. I've done these operations before and-"
"You've done operations before Kimberley and you got told no more but you've got the opportunity to go for another, why not?! There's nothing to lose!"
"Wait, hold on a minute girls." The doctor interrupts us both, shifting his papers around and sighing.
"There's one risk, it's a big one but-"
"What is it?" Kimberley interrupts, our joined hands becoming moist with sweat.
"There's a chance, it's about 5% less of a chance than it working but it's still a risk. Look- well- there's a chance it could not go wrong but affect you massively, as in you could die Kimberley." I freeze in shock but i can Kimberley thinking about it. It's totally turned the tables, she can't do it.
"No, Kimberley no."
"Can i take some leaflets and we'll get back to you by tomorrow night?" She asks, picking up the information.
"Sure. Just let me know cause the quicker i know, the quicker i can get you over there. It's critical."
"Sure, yeah. Of course." We say our goodbyes to the Doctor and leave, not a word being spoken in the car. She walks through our door first, papers in her hand and looking happy, not distressed, not like she's just been told she could have an operation that could save her from dying and suffering or could kill her instantly.
Kimberley's POV:
"Kimberley! Kimba! Hold on."
"Can we speak later? I want to take a nap."
"No, i want to speak now. You know, you can't do this? You can't-"
"This is my decision Cheryl. Look in the end, i'm going to die. I can do it, happy with the fact, i've tried and i've fought. I want to do this."
"You've decided?! No-"
"I could be on a plane next week and in a months time, be home, happy and healthy with my life back!"
