This chapter is more emotional if you're listening to To Have a Home. You might cry. Don't say I didn't warn you.
"Darren Criss," Robert said. I'm so happy I pulled over. If I hadn't, I would've crashed into the car in front of me.
"Wait, so you're telling me that I am related to Darren Criss?" I clarified.
"Yes, that's the gist. You're his little sister," he confirmed.
"Wow," I said, going back on the road.
"That's your reaction?" He asked me.
"Yes! I'm just in shock," I said. We put the music back on and I couldn't help but feel a little giddy. My brother. That was weird.
We finally arrived at our grandparents' house. After knocking on the door, I met my grandmother. She had smile wrinkles around her eyes as she grinned and hugged us. Her snow white hair tickled my neck. "How are you two doing?" She asked us.
"Great!" We chorused. We then caught sight of each of our parents. It was like we were children again. I ran towards my mother. She had the Manion family raven-black hair. I hugged her.
"Did you get my text?" She whispered.
"Yes," I muttered.
"Good," she said. She stood back. "You look so much older than the last time I saw you."
I grinned and headed to my father who looked considerably less mad. I hugged him and looked back at him. He had sandy-brown hair and a tan. "Hello," I said to him.
"You've grown up a lot since the last time I saw you...what maybe three years ago? Now you're a year out of university," he said, nostalgically. My mum gave me a look. Yes, I lied to him, but the less he remembers from last time, the better. I nodded subtly and headed to Robert's parents. They both had hair that was the most midnight-black it could get.
"Hello!" I exclaimed, hugging each of them. In each hug, I heard their promise.
"He won't hurt you. I promise," they had said. I smiled and put my stuff in the room I always stayed in when I was younger. I sat there for a bit until Robert came in.
"Is it okay if we share?" He asked.
"Sure!" I replied, patting the bed next to me. He sat down next to me.
"I'm nervous," he said.
"About tonight?" I offered.
"Yeah. If I don't make it, I hope I'll be able to cope. If I do make it, I would have to find a way to get to and from America. And it's not cheap. I want you to be there if I make it. On top of that, I still have this project to finish," he said. I put my hand on his knee.
"It's okay. Either way, I'll be supporting you," I said, laying my head on his shoulder. We stayed there for a bit in silence, enjoying each other's company until a phone call on someone's phone went off. After a second, I realized it was mine. Unknown number. I shrugged and picked up. "Hello?"
"Hello, is this Luna Manion?" The voice said. It was male.
"Yes," I replied.
"Thank goodness. Lo, I swear," I heard. Another voice came, this time female, more distant.
"It's not my fault. You didn't hear anything," the female voice said. I assume her name was Lauren.
"Well, anyways, Luna, this is Darren Criss. By now you've heard that our DNA matched probably. So, after talking to your current mom, I realized that I'm your older brother. So, yeah. I've planned to fly over there in a couple days. And yeah, I promise I'll explain all of this soon. I'll see you," he said.
