"Do you have Saturday free? Tomorrow?" I asked Clark, flipping through my calendar only two days ahead. I heard him sigh on the other side of the line as I looked at the Skype™ call.
"No. AJ wants to work out music until five-ish. That's code for I'll make it home at nine and I promised I would have you home by eleven," he said. I propped my head up on my elbows.
"Who did you promise?" I asked.
"Darren. Does Sunday work?" He asked me. I looked at Monday.
"If it's before eight. Monday's an early call day," I said.
"Cool. So, what times on Sunday?"
"I am available from eight in the morning to eight at night," I smiled. He looked at me.
"Deal. I'll text you the details?"
"Cool." We beamed.
"See you later," he said, waving and hanging up. I sat up and looked at the Skype home screen. I leaned backwards and fell onto the pillows in delight. I must've been stuck in my daydream for a while because Robert had to come and get me for night rehearsal. This was a new thing Brian liked. I had no idea why. Probably because it set our internal clocks up for lack of sleep. Showtime was in about a month and a half and our internal clocks were way off.
"So, we're all doing a full run-through. Just dress with headpieces and wigs. No fancy hair or makeup," Brian instructed. I sat next to him.
"Do you know everyone's cues?" Brian asked me. I nodded. "Okay. I just realized we don't have someone to make sure everyone is onstage on time. Can you do it?"
"I got it," I said confidently.
"Cool," he responded, handing me a copy of the script. I took it and headed backstage, where chaos reigned.
Everyone was bustling around, figuring out headpieces. This was especially difficult, considering the small scale of the dressing room. "Out in five!" Meredith called as she secured her own headpiece with the thousands of bobby pins she had and hopefully would not lose. Five minutes passed and the dressing room emptied. Only Rachael was left.
"Do you need some help?" I asked her, seeing the struggle of getting her wig on.
"Please," she said.
"Sit," I instructed her, taking the wig and getting it on her head. "Hold it and let me know if it hurts," I added, pinning it with care. Or at least as much as I could get with a cast on one hand. Jaime came rushing in and I finished my pinning job to help Jaime get out of her scarves. She rushed off after I handed her the book and readjusted Rachael's wig. I heard the opening number end and almost everyone came in as Rachael left to create room.
I never thought such a long production could go by so quickly, but it did. We all went out for Brian's notes. "Okay, Robert, Lo, be more in sync during the opening. You're not doing backflips, only fancy turns it's not too hard. We can figure something out. Jeff, during I Steal Everything look more like you're thinking when you say the 'Monkey kill' line. Dylan, be more desperate in I Believe. That's all for Act one. In act two, Rachael act happier when Jeff says 'smart and pretty.' Um, Jaime we need a more exaggerated Ursula. Yes, it feels stupid but it's going to look so freaking good. Joe, just be more of a bad person in general. Achmed may seem insignificant, but he runs a lot of the plot in this. Jim, sing 'Ja'far' more," Brian said. Everyone muttered a version of 'okay' before we stayed to lock up.
"Did I do okay?" I asked Brian.
"Yeah. Good job. But, everyone is gone, so let's lock up and sleep. Is anyone hungry?" Brian asked everyone as he fiddled with the keys to lock the theater.
"Yeah," Meredith said. Robert nodded.
"Okay," Brian said. We got a bit of food before retiring. I called Darren.
"Why aren't you in bed?" He asked me.
"Night rehearsal," I explained.
"Is that a thing now?" Darren asked.
"Apparently."
"Well, good to know you're alive. I'll call you tomorrow night," he said. I nodded.
"Okay. Talk to you later," I said. I hung up and set my phone down with a sigh. I hoped he didn't know about my date in two days. I called Chuck.
"You're getting better at calling, but shouldn't you be asleep?" Chuck asked.
"I should, but night rehearsal. Yes, it's a thing," I said.
"Okay. I'll text you and I expect a call tomorrow. I love you," he said.
"I love you, too," I said, hanging up.
The next day was pretty uneventful. The weekend was off of rehearsals, so everyone got to properly spend some time in the city. I decided to do my work for the next week to just be more relaxed. I got into a routine until around three in the afternoon when I got a phone call. "Hello?"
"What the actual heck?" Darren asked me.
"About what?"
"Who are you dating oh my gosh I haven't threatened whoever you're dating over Skype. I'm so panicked don't go," Darren said.
"It's not a date. It's a let's-do-something-casual-because-of-Rachael," I said.
"It always depends on what you call it and I say it's a date. I'll call you tonight, I just need to get some work done," he said. I sighed nervously.
"Okay. Don't tell me you're calling him."
"I'm not."
"Yes you are."
"Okay, I am."
"Don't! Darren Everett Criss, I swear, I will stay on the line with you until you fall asleep."
"Luna noooo! That's so creepy!" Darren said. I smiled, picturing him shielding his face. And sure, maybe it was a creepy thing, but I'm the little sister. It's what I do.
"Just don't call Clark," I said.
"Wait, you're going out with Clark?"
"You didn't know that? Who did you think I was talking about?" I asked.
"I don't know, someone you met in public or someone in the cast?" Darren said.
"Okay, no. So, don't call him," I said.
"Okay. I won't. I promise. Go have fun tomorrow," Darren said.
"Okay. Love you, DareBear."
"I love you, too Luna."

Well, it's been a while I guess. I ate so much during Thanksgiving. No regrets because the food was amazing. It's felt like a long week and it's only Monday *sigh*. But I only have three weeks and midterms 'till I'm done with the semester, so that's that. Also, there are only 14 chapters left. I'm writing a sequel but I'm not sure how I feel about publishing it. Give me your thoughts! Have a great time until I see you next!
