I felt your words breaking
through my heart,
I looked at you and realized
that you meant it this time.
Then everything got blurry,
but I held back my tears,
fixed my shattered heart,
Hoping you wouldn't
see me falling apart.
Wondering if my heart,
was strong enough
to keep beating after all.
Kind of wishing it was not.
