Jack and The Beanstalk

15 6 5

The often told tale,
Of a boy named Jack.
It is correct,
But the ending went whack.

After the escapade,
Involving a giant,
Environmentalists
Became defiant.

The beanstalk was made into an industry,
It's branches cut down,
It's leaves pulled off,
Smoke and gases took over the town.

Wrecking balls
And logging trucks killing the stalk.
Protests started,
The village fought as a flock.

The money men ignored the complaints,
Their consciences clear.
The beanstalk is dying,
It's end is near.

One very sad day,
The beanstalk tumbled,
The earth shook,
And the ground rumbled.

The village was terribly upset,
Some even shed a tear.
Sadly this happens,
Everywhere, far and near.

The earth is being destroyed,
So as humans we must learn,
To use our resources wisely,
Or we'll see our world burn.

This poem definitely took a darker turn, frankly I didn't mean for this to happen, but oh well. I hope you enjoyed this poem, please vote and comment if you enjoyed, Thanks for reading!
