"Eight years without Nate. That's insane." Ethan sighed.

"Well at least we know he's not in pain anymore." Tyler spoke.

Nathan saw everything. He heard everything. But his friends didn't know.
None of them knew he was still hurting.
None of them knew that after he died, he could still feel the pain.
No one knew that whenever Mat was in pain, he was in pain.

They didn't know that he could see the demons still.
He knew where they all were.
But none of them walked the earth anymore.
He and Cristina got rid of them.
The world was safer now.

He watched from afar.

He saw when Ethan and Tyler got engaged.
He saw their wedding.
He saw when they adopted kids.

He saw when Mark found his new love.
He saw when they broke up and got back together again.
He saw them get engaged.
He saw her choosing a wedding dress.
He even saw the invitations being made.

He saw Jack find someone new.
He saw his happiness come back.
He saw Jack showing him pictures of Nate.
He loved when they came to visit.
He loved when they both spoke to him.
She spoke to him as if she knew him.

He saw Mat get married.
He saw him adopt kids.
He even saw him adopt a cat and call him CatPat.
He saw him start his life over.
He saw him happy again.
He even saw the way he forgot about Nate.

But Nathan didn't care.

He saw everyone happy again.

And that's all he's ever wanted.

To see them happy.

Even if he was gone.
