Author's note: Hey everyone! I'm really sorry that the next chapter took so Long! >.< I didn't expect that I'd be getting even more busy now that I'm in the OBGYN department. Uh well...it is the 'ber' months, so pregnant mommies are to be expected...ok...I'm getting off topic lol. I really do hope I won't lose motivation to write. I really, honestly, want to finish this novel! I've thought it through until the end, but writing takes up a lot of time and squeezes out my limited creative juices, that I may not be faithful to this anymore T_T. (It's hard nurturing creativity when you practically live in the hospital -__-";;; )
But of course, I will try to write when I can! >o< yoshhhh! Thank you so much for everyone's support! I really enjoy reading feedbacks, and I apologise if I'm not able to reply due to my hectic schedule TT_TT. Please motivate me more by sending love this way~~ kukuku~~Thank you for reading, everyone! Enjoy! 💕
Love, Kerbasi—————————————————
The last thing that Zheng Liuli remembered was a large truck careening towards her car window. It was really too sudden, that her only reaction was to widen her eyes. In the middle of a city, how often would this happen? She could scarcely believe it. She only realised that everything was real after she heard a tremendously loud collision together with unbearable pain that racked her body.
Even as she was unconscious, she could clearly sense a ripping injury in her very being, as if her soul was being extracted from her body forcefully. She could not do anything about the pain, and she could only endure, despite the increasing intensity. It hurt so much, she was even considering if death would be a better option. She had never had a near death experience before, nor did she experience being on the brink of death—until now.
Was this her body's way of saying she was going to die soon? But why did it hurt so much? Shouldn't her sense of pain be blunted after dying?
The pain suddenly subsided, and a warmth seemed to nourish her soul, like a tide lapping up the shore. She inwardly sighed. Maybe she didn't die. Maybe she was in a hospital and she was given painkillers. She should try to move her body to estimate the extent of her injuries. She knew a collision with a huge truck gave extreme repercussions, and she half expected to be unable to move her entire body at all. She visualised her future as a quadriplegic, and moaned in misery.
Nevertheless, despite her misgivings, she still tried to twitch her fingers.
T-They moved!
How about her toes?
T-They moved!
She suddenly felt energised. She raised her fist in the air...
"Ow!"
Her eyes flew open, and she saw Luo Ren holding on to a red cheek. It seemed she had punched him unaware.
"Ren!" Zheng Liuli exclaimed, immediately hugging his neck. "I thought I died! Was it just a dream?"
Luo Ren nodded his head, stroking the back of her hair gently. "You did die," he affirmed nonchalantly.
"...." Should Zheng Liuli punch him again?
"No, you really did die." Luo Ren looked at her with an odd expression, pushing away her already clenched fist that seemed to get closer to his right cheek.
Zheng Liuli pursed her lips. If she died, why was Luo Ren in front of her? Did he die too? Were they in the netherworld? But how was it possible for him to die when he wasn't even in the car at the time of the accident? She was so confused.
