I was relieved when the dinner finally ended. It was so awkward to sit there while wondering if another fight was going to break out. Luckily, nothing happened after James and Nathan calmed down, but I still felt a bad tension in the air, floating all around me. I could tell that James hadn't forgotten what Nathan had said to me. He kept glancinf maliciously at him, as he clenched his jaw in order to bite his tongue. Nathan noticed, of course, and it amused him to the point James became even angrier. I tried my best to ignore it, but it didn't help that James was sitting next to me, radiating hatred.
Anyway, everyone said their goodnights and went to off to their rooms. Maxwell and Penny to their room went together, and their youngest son, Darren, went alone to his. I didn't know exactly where I was staying, but, since I was given as a gift to James, I figured I'd be "sleeping" with him. He led me up a long, flight of stairs and down a hallway that seemed to go on forever. Nathan and his omega followed behind us, probably heading to their own room.
I looked back at them curiously only to find that Nathan and his omega weren't as "cuddly" as they were at dinner. In fact, they were the complete opposite, standing at least five feet apart from each other. Nathan seemed very displeased, while the omega looked worried about something. I didn't exactly know what to make of that, but I didn't really care either. They had nothing to do with me, and I wanted to keep it that way.
Finally, James and I stopped in front of a giant door. He opened it and turned to me, allowing me to go in first. I was very hesitant. I knew as soon as I walked into the room anything could happen, and I meant anything. Since I belonged to James, he was free do whatever he wanted with me. He could beat me because he was pissed off at Nathan or force himself on me to relieve his tension. I was scared definitely, but I didn't really have much of a choice either. My life wasn't my own anymore.
I inhaled to calm my nerves and walked in the room. For a moment, I was in awe of how spacious it was. The walls were decorated in old tapestries and paintings way before my time, and the floors were a white and blue marble that had gold flecks scattered randomly in swirls. A large television was hung above a fireplace at the left side of the room, sitting proudly in front of a loveseat and sofa. My eyes drifted to the center of the glorious space, stopping at the king sized bed. The framing and canopy were both a dark wood, as transparent curtains fell down gracefully around the bed. Adding to all the wonder, a grand balcony stood behing the bed with large glass doors leading to its amazing view. I remembered seeing balconies when I arrived yesterday, and they were just as gorgeous outside as they were inside.
I couldn't believe that this was all just one bed room. The room was big enough to be a regular apartment, yet, only one person resided here. I kept thinking back to books that I had read, remembering scenes being painted in my mind that looked exactly like what I was experiencing now. This was all so surreal.
James chuckled, which ceased my dream-like state. "You like it, huh?"
I looked at him and nodded, not knowing exactly what the best response was. I didn't want to sound too giddy to be in a place that was way to much for me to wish for. That sounded somewhat greedy in my opinion.
He smiled. "Well, I'm glad you do." He walked to his bed and slumped down, resting his elbows on his knees.
I walked to him catiously. He didn't tell me to come to him, but he also didn't tell me to stay either. I stopped just a couple feet away from him just to be sure.
He sighed frustratingly and glanced up at me. "I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with you." He admitted.
I cocked my head in confusion. "I'm sorry."
"No. Don't be." He sighed again. "Honestly, kid...I don't want you here."
I bit my lip, unsure if I angered him. "Do you want me to leave?"
