09. You're Just As Important To This Team As Much As We Are

"Haxus! I want whoever's in this ship found and terminated!"

[Y/N] groaned as her eyes opened. Her hands were tied behind her back. She blinked a few times until her vision cleared. Her head throbbed with an unbearable headache.

She looked next to her, to find a still unconscious Lance. She then looked in the other direction, finding an also just waking up Shiro.

"Comander Sendak, I received a transmission generating from somewhere inside." The Galran known as Haxus spoke.

Allura's voice echoed through the room. "There's not much time before they get the ship running again. You must shut off the particle barrier so we can get in."

"You got it. Tell me what to do." Pidge's voice then came in.

"The particle barrier generator in beneath the main hull,"

"She's telling the intruder how to take down our defenses." He informed.

"Yes, but she's also giving away his location," Sendak said. "Find that room. Kill the paladin."

"Pidge, no..." [Y/N] murmured as the sentries then exited the room eith their guns.

"Repair that engine. Emperor Zarkon has commanded us to bring him Voltron. This ship will rise before day's end."

"Haxus, report in." Sendak spoke.

"Haxus is gone, and you're next!" Pidge exclaimed through the communicator.

"Way to go, Pidge." [Y/N] whispered as her lips curled up in a smile.

"You've slowed me down, but this ship is mine!" The Galran Commander growled. "You will turn yourself over to me immediately!"

"Never!" The Green Paladin exclaimed.

"Well, then, maybe your leader can convince you." Sendak then stepped over to Shiro.

"What do you want?" Shiro gritted through his teeth.

"Shiro?"

"Pidge? Pidge, don't listen to--" He was cut off by Sendak electrocuting him. Screams of pain escaped his lips.

"Shiro!" [Y/N] cried out, and she began to struggle to stand up.

"No!" Pidge shouted.

"You can make it stop. Turn yourself in. His suffering is in your hands." Sendak told her before the inter comm ended.

Finally, [Y/N] got herself to stand and she rammed into Sendak's side, causing him to stumble away from the Black Paladin. In process, she fell back to her knees with a grunt.

The Galran soon recovered and he'd grab her by the neck using his metal arm. [Y/N] just glared at him with clenched teeth.

"You have bravery, but that was a foolish action to do."

"I know that, but I won't let you hurt my teammates. They are more important here than I ever would be. Even if I die, they will still save the universe one way or another, as long as they have Voltron." [Y/N] coughed out, as she could feel his grip tightening around her neck.

Sendak then dropped her back onto the ground, next to Shiro. She gasped as oxygen reentered her lungs.

"You didn't have to do that." She heard Shiro mutter.
