Virgil!" I heard Logan yell. I was sitting in my room once again, overthinking every outcome of today as I prepared to go find Patton to talk to Thomas. The fear in Logan's voice was explosive, shaking my room.  Suddenly I was in the living room. I pulled my hood down

"Needy much?" just as the words left my mouth the scene of the room sunk in. Roman and Logan were standing around Thomas, who was Sat on the couch, staring into nothingness. Logan stared daggers at me

"Can you shelf your cantankerous attitude for one moment?"

"What's going on?" Roman looked up at me, fear the pinnacle of his face. He couldn't seem to stomach the words. Thomas pushed up from his seat and stomped up the stairs, pulling at his hair as if in distress.

"Thomas?" I hushed. He barely looked at me, instead slamming the door to his room.

"Logan what's going on?" My voice shook, something I was not accustom to. I could see him grind his back molar, something we were all in the habit of doing.

"Pattons missing" he whispered as if saying the worlds out loud caused him physical pain.

And with that it was like I was struck in the head with a hammer. My heart was pounding in my skull, fear shot through me, freezing me on the spot, my mouth was dry as stone, my limbs were weak.

"What?" Was all I could manage

"Thomas has lost his morality completely. His sense of right and wrong, it's vanished" I felt my bones ache as I walked towards Them. Roman grabbed my arm, to hold me steady or him I'm not sure.

"Why is Thomas like that?" I hadn't seen Thomas act like that in what felt like an eternity.

"With Patton gone he not only lost his sense of morality but his motivation as well. He quit his youtube channel, he pushed away his friends, his family" The words were hard to process, he would never do that to Joan, Talyn, Camden, Terrence, Valerie, all of them, they all meant the world to him. I tried to form sentences in my brain, but I couldn't focus on a single word for long enough.

"Well you're logic aren't you? Can't you just... undo it?" I spat out finally

"No. Without Patton he might be viewing this as illogical, but he doesn't have the motivation to do what's right" Logan and Roman exchanged a look.

"Where is Patton?" I muttered

"We don't know. We were just about to check his room" Roman released my arm

"I'll go, you stay here with him. The last thing Thomas needs right now is anxiety" Roman gave me an odd look

"That's...very... considerate of you emo-nesence" I gave him the side eye. Logan looked prepared to get in the middle of us if we began arguing. I swallowed my pride and instincts to fight him.

"Thanks princey" I pulled my hood back up and turned to leave, my heart still in my throat.

"Wait Virgil" Logan said quickly. I turned around and met his eyes. He, for the first time I had seen him, looked genuinely scared. He was holding his glasses in his hand, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"What?"

"Be... careful" I gave a small smile

"You got it thesaurus"

I flashed into Patton's room. It always took me a moment to adjust my eyes to the cheery lighting. But this time it was completely dark. Suddenly goosebumps covered my body. His usually upbeat and happy room was anything but. The golden lights were shattered, leaving the room dark and hollow. Photos and trophies were thrown everywhere, pages torn and awards shattered. Painting thrown off the walls and claw marks ripping through the wall paper. I walked over to the upside couch
