Johnny was still standing in the kitchen when Athena came out of his room.

"Feeling alright?"
He asked with a pained smile.

It hurt him beyond words to see anyone be intentionally hit by someone.

Especially by someone who "loves them"

"Yeah... I was thinking a lot. And so I think I need to apologize to Jungwoo."
She said quietly.

"WHAT?"
Johnny yelled, louder than expected.

It was loud enough that Athena flinched.

"Oh- oh my god."

He didn't believe what he had done.
He scared the poor girl who had just been abused by her partner to the point that she flinched.

"Oh my god, Athena I'm so sorry. It's not my place to say something like that."
He said.
Johnny then pulled the scared girl into a hug, rubbing the back of her head.

The small girl hugged him back tightly, almost like she was never going to let go.

"What's going on?"
Jaehyun said, walking into the kitchen.

He came in to see Johnny tenderly looking at Athena, and rubbing the back of her head.
It wasn't until after that he saw all the bruises on her.

Jaehyun was confused.

"What- What happened."
He said firmly.

"Did you do this, Johnny?"
He asked further, referring to the bruises on Athena.

"No, I would never do this to anyone."
Johnny responded.

"But if you want answers, I'm not the one to ask."

The three of them sat down on the couches, and decided to talk.

Johnny had Athena sit on his lap, they were still hugging.

"Athena, what did you tell Johnny?"
Jaehyun asked. This time his voice was softer, and he leaned in when he spoke.

"I know it sounds terrible, but  I told him that Jungwoo hit me.."
She said.

"Oh- oh my god."
Jaehyun spoke.

"Um, Athena dear, why did he hit you?"
Jaehyun questioned.

"I guess it was because I disobeyed him."
She said with her head down.

For some odd reason she found it hard to look at the two.

"What do you mean, disobeyed?"
Johnny spoke up.

"Jungwoo specifically said to not do anything he wouldn't want me to do. And I did just that."
Athena continued.

"I don't think I follow- what did he tell you not to do?"
Jaehyun was obviously confused.

"He doesn't like me talking to boys he doesn't know. He's fine with you Jaehyun because your practically my other brother, and obviously Mark. But I started to talk to Johnny on my own, and he didn't like that."
Athena's voice was shaky.

"Was that it?"
Johnny asked.

He got worried.
He was the reason she got hit.
If he never had met her, she would have been spared of pain.

"N-no.
He said I needed to 'take a break' from food, because I was getting chubby.
But I ate some food today, and he didn't like it."

"Ok- I know I'm not actually your brother, and I probally have no right to say this, but that's fucked up."
Jaehyun spoke in shock.

"Darling, is that all?"
Johnny asked.

"I, I think so. But I was thinking... it's my own fault, right? I did everything he specifically told me not to do, so it's ok he hit me right? He's just... trying to help me learn, right?"
She poured out.

Johnny and Jaehyun stared at each other in disbelief.
They never thought someone would say something like that, ever.

"Athena, look at me please."
Johnny said.

The girl shook her head no.

So Johnny moved himself to the point where he could softly hold her head up so he could see her eyes.

"Athena, no one should ever tell you to do things like that. You are an independent person, you don't need people to tell you to do toxic things like that. And it certainly isn't alright that he hit you."
He said.

Athena's eyes began to become glossy.

"But, it's not the first time he's done something like this..."
She spoke quietly.

"You mean, he's hit you before?"
Jaehyun asked.

Athena nodded her head yes.

"He doesn't like my hair. It's naturally wavy. I used to keep it like that, but after Jungwoo told me countless times to straighten it and I hadn't- he hit me. And I've straightened it ever since."
She said.

"Thats messed up."
Johnny spoke.

Jaehyun was just about to speak-

But there was a knock on the door.
