Lilly was putting her books away
in a locker that was scratched and marred,
a dull blue. She had a mirror in it
but only because many times she had a habit
of drawing on her face accidentally,
leaving random lines of blue or black ink
on her face but today,
she was certain she hadn't.
So she didn't look in the mirror
and she didn't see what was coming behind her.
