There are four positions for meditation: sitting, walking, standing, and lying meditation. I will go over each of those in more detail later. Meditation sessions are usually about an hour long. If you can't sit for that length of time, it's okay to start with shorter 10-15 minutes sessions to begin your practice. It's best to meditate with the eyes closed to reduce visual stimuli, but you can also meditate with they half-open. If you need to meditate with your eyes open, try to look at something calming and simple.

Our minds want to wander and be busy. If you notice that your focus has been broken, don't be angry or upset. Meditation takes practice. Gently remind yourself to breathe and return your focus to the object.
