4. Explaining, Undies, and Camp Half-Blood

~About 2 Hours of Explaining Greek Mythology Is Real Later~"Okay, so your telling me that Greek gods are real, the Hermes I talked too wasn't a psycho, he was the actual god Hermes, you don't know if he knows my father, my father isn't dead like he said but he's actually a Greek god, you don't know which Greek god, I'm some sort of half-god, Mr.Brunner is actually Chiron and is a centaur, you're a satyr and my 'protecter', and you guys are taking me to this camp called Camp Half-Blood," Derek nodded, looking quite pleased that I got that all crammed into my brain. "Well this makes perfect sense!"

"Really?!"

"No you nimrod, I was being sarcastic!" I flicked his forehead. Travis groaned, now he had to go through another 2 hour of constant blabbering.

"Derek! Just show her your hairy legs and horns, eat a can, and get it over with! This is getting boring!!"

"Fine, if I'm doing such a bad job, maybe you can do better! You try teaching her this stuff!" Were they calling me stupid? I wasn't sure.

"Gladly!"

Travis looked at me from the mirror and said, "Julie, look at your bracelet." I stared down at it, wondering what would happen next. "Blink." I shut my eyes. When I opened them, I looked at my bracelet, only to find it in the hands of Travis!

"Hey, give that back!" I grabbed it from his hands and slapped his face. The bracelet meant a lot to me, Mom said that before he died, Dad gave it to me as a present.

"Hey what was that for?"

"For taking my bracelet!"

"I'm the son of Hermes, I like stealing stuff!" he replied, mischievously grinning. I made sure to keep one hand clutching my wallet ever since that moment.

"Ooh, so what can I do?" At this point, Derek face-palmed himself, clearly upset that Travis could explain better than he could.

"Well, since we don't know who your father is yet, we don't know what your powers are. Like if you were the daughter of Poseidon you would be able to control water and stuff like Percy Jackson. If you were a daughter of Hades you would be able to raise the dead and be able to shadow travel like Nico di Angelo. And if you were a daughter of Hermes you would be my sister! If you were a daughter of-you know what? Forget about it, just read the manual." He passed me this book that weighed more than me! I struggled to lift the cover, but had a harder time reading the text. I have dyslexia, which makes me have a really hard time enjoying Harry Potter.

Derek started whining like a baby. "Why didn't you show her the book in the first place?! Then she could have read the book by herself and we would have saved time explaining!!"

Travis shrugged. "Sorry, I can't help but enjoy watching you try to teach her Greek mythology. Key word, try."

I narrowed my eyebrows. "Are you guys trying to say I'm dumb?"

"W-what?! No....how could you say that to me, your best friend?" Derek put his hand on his heart. "I feel so hurt!" I rolled my eyes and tackled him, giving him a noogie.

"Heh heh. So sorry to ruin your heartwarming moment, but WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!" Travis screamed, zooming past the speed limit.

"Oh my gods, so this is how it ends! Grab something and hold onto it, we're all gonna die!" Derek clutched the seat belt and closed his eyes, muttering 'Mary Had a Little Lamb'. I was totally baffled, why were we going to die?

"Um....so why are we all dead?" He pointed at something behind my head. I turned and saw the scariest, most scarring thing ever. A bull-man-thing was running after us, catching up quickly. He had a murderous, tough guy look on his face, like 'Hey! I ate nails for breakfast so I can kill you! Have a great day!' But that wasn't the scarring part. He was wearing only tighty whiteys! "Oh, gross! Put on a a shirt and some pants, there are children here!" I covered both Derek and my eyes with my hands.
