jonah marais was born with a heart defect. this caused jonah to not make it out of the hospital alive of the day of his birth.

his parents were deeply saddened, but they knew exactly where he'd be going; heaven.

his parents were aware that a child who dies young, has a very special place in heaven. he would be sent to help other children who needed somebody there for them. for that, jonah's parents were grateful.

although they wanted to be there when jonah took his first steps, learned to talk, graduated high school; they knew that he was in a much better place.

jonah's parents had always known that when they looked up at the stars, jonah would be staring right back.

he always was.
