-Thu. 22nd Nov., Thanksgiving-

That morning Summer told me that she was going to pick up the guys at the airport in the evening with her Jeep. I wanted to go but I knew that they weren't going to fit in the car 'cause they were 6 in a 5-seater car so I didn't say anything to her.

When I arrived from high school, I went to my bedroom where I called Daniel. I wanted to listen to his voice before he took the plane that would bring him back to LA.

—Hey...! I can't wait for seeing you honey.—I was smiling and I thought he was smiling too.

—Me too...and I promise that we are going to meet at your house in about 3 hours.

—Well, you must we here in 3 hours 'cause it's been a long time since we last saw each other.

—Yeah, you're right, I hope that from today we will see much more.

—I hope too.

—You should come with us to the concerts, it would be cool have you in the hotel.—he laughed, I didn't realize how much I missed his laugh 'til I heard it on the phone.

—I'm not sure...

—Don't worry, we are going to be together for Christmas Holidays so you can think about it while.

—OK...I'll think about it.

—I love you, Kendall, don't forget it.

—I love you too...

We talked for a half an hour more and then, Daniel got inside the airplane for coming back to LA.

After talking with him, I went to the closet to get dressed for Thanksgiving dinner. I chose a grey skirt with a black sweater with bare shoulders.

I really appreciated that sweater because it was one of the gifts that the Seavey brothers gave me for my last birthday, I have to admit that both brothers have good taste in clothes.

When I went to the dining room my aunt Katie was setting the table, I decided to help her.

Lately, at 8 p.m., we put inside the oven the turkey while I was thinking about how much they had left to get there. They finished the Europe tour 2 days ago. They flew from London's airport to New York yesterday so today they are flying to Los Angeles from New York.

Was half-past 9 when my aunt and I finished cooking but Summer and Dan still without calling me so I thought there was a delay in their flight. I was bored and a little worried so my aunt Katie turned on the TV. We decided to stop looking on TV when we looked at one that was retransmitting the latest news from LA.

—We connect with reporters in Los Angeles where has just happened a terrorist attack at the airport—said the news anchor—But luckily, there are 2 deaths and just 1 severely injured. Kevin Asher a man who was traveling for Thanksgiving died on the spot while the other deceased person is Summer Hazel Seavey, a teenager who is only 18 years old, her 19-year-old brother is seriously wounded by a bullet that has hit him on the chest, some witnesses said...

I stopped listening immediately, Summer and Daniel, I couldn't believe it. I took my phone and I called Summer but I didn't get any answer. Later, I called Dani. The beep- began to sound.

—Kendall...—said Daniel with a broken voice and without strength to speak.

—¡Daniel!—I shouted his name while a lot of tears were falling down my face.

—Please, listen to me...I just want you to know that I'm fine.—I knew he wasn't as OK as he was trying to make me believe and I knew that could be his last words and his last Thanksgiving.—I love you...we are going to meet soon, I promise you...—he exhaled a charged sigh and I suddenly stopped hearing his weak voice. He had just expired.

The Seavey brothers...it hurt, it hurt a lot. Remember all the lessons, moments and great days with Summer hurts, remember her smile while she was skateboarding with her hazel curly hairs at the wind hurts so much too.

It hurt to remember the day that Daniel asked me to be his girlfriend, he prepared a night picnic next to a beautiful lake while hundreds of stars were shining over our heads but the night of the 22nd of November was like if all the stars that one day shinned had died with both brothers.

I wanted to run as far as possible like if I were chasing the last goodbye I told them without knowing that it would be the last.

My aunt hugged me 'cause I was crying uncontrollably while I was thinking about the last words of Daniel.

They wouldn't have to be dead, they didn't deserve it. I was broken, my whole world had fallen apart.
