Sitting in the solitude of the quiet church was Polly Shelby. Awaiting the arrival of Arthur Shelby after Thomas had just left. Of course he had gotten a speaking to before hand. But that wasn't what was on Pollys' mind anymore. Only one thing was on her mind.

Shoes hitting the tile floor interrupted her train of thoughts. The solid door slamming shut echoed against the empty church walls.
Without turning in her seat she feels the eldest Shelby sit beside her giving her the go ahead to ask her questions.
"Did you know?" Polly asks, no emotion shown on her face but her voice betraying her.
"I- " Cutting him off before he can even begin his reply she asks him again.
"Did. You. Know?"
With his head hung low, Arthur begins to think to himself, Did he know?
The silent looks the women gave each other on the streets.
The communists handing out black roses.
The paranoia that lingered in the air.
He knew. He just didn't want to acknowledge it.
"Of course he knew, Aunt Pol."
There in the corner sat Lilith, her blonde hair cascading over her shoulders. She looked just as beautiful as the day he left for war. Her full lips painted a deep crimson that complimented her soft features.
