|Title Making|

This chapter was requested by DeathGun2002 I'm so sorry it took so long and thank you for suggesting it because it is such an important part of writing!

Titles are literally what people remember the most about your story besides the story itself. It can be the thing that captures the readers interest besides your cover and synopsis. I had the worst most obvious title but I think it's just part of the process because it was after all the first draft. A title should match your story, this can be done by focusing on the theme or maybe one specific character. My stories, first drafts, had typical names for example my story is about an alpha having a mate way younger than him so I called it "Young Mate." Honestly there's nothing wrong with the title, but search up young mate and see how many stories show up with the exact same name or something close to it. The point of this chapter is to give you ideas on a creative title, so it doesn't get lost in the masses.

One thing you should not do is search up the title you want to check if someone else has it. You picked the title because it felt right, so just use it. Honestly sometimes not being able to come up with a title is the only thing stopping me from actually writing and this whole book is about getting you to write to begin with. Stick with your title and worry about it when you make it public.

There are plenty of stories with the same name, it's fine. Just make sure that your stories are not the same. If you are worried, feel free to message the person to let them know that your story is different just has the same title.

Now let's get to the creative part, I hated the title young mate because I felt like it gave so much away already. It also might have stopped people from reading because they were tired of that concept and therefore would not even give my story a chance. In this case Google is your best friend.

I wanted my title to be more unique and represent my story in the best way possible so I thought about what was most important to my books, family and it avoiding all the cliches of abuse and cheating. I thought of the word loyalty and my most loyal character would be the Alpha. I didn't really like the name I picked for my Alpha because it didn't sound powerful enough. I had chosen the last name "White" so I decided to change it but I still wanted it to be a color that would represent the family.

This is where Google comes in, I simply typed in a color and looked at the different names and shades before I picked one. Then I looked up synonyms for the word loyalty and I put both words together. The title I ended up with was "Carmine's Devotion" which I think is such an upgrade from Young Mate.

Of course, there were so many results so narrowing it down was difficult so I had another Wattpad writer help me by sending her the list of possible names and had her pick her favorites. I understand that not everyone has friends they can ask so feel free to message me privately if you want a second opinion.

If you're too lazy to research there are plenty of title generators on Google to help you out. You just fill in whatever it asks and it'll make something. Sometimes hearing a bad name will help you create a good one. That's how I write my essays, someone gives me a stupid topic sentence or thesis and all of a sudden I come up with the perfect start to an essay.

You can also choose by trying to see what it would look like on your cover to help you choose which one you like best.

My titles usually end up being 1-3 words but it's perfectly fine to make them longer, there's no set rule. Either way sometimes a person will remember your story instead of your title so it doesn't matter anyway haha.

This book is at 3K reads which I never expected, but I hope this is useful. Again feel free to message me about helping with title choosing, I'm so busy and tired these days but I'll try to respond as soon as I can.
