Chapter 16: Firefight at the Docks

Downtown Vale - Cafe
After a rather hectic weekend and Blake running off with Holden and Y/n in pursuit, the trio stayed in town for the weekend, Y/n and Holden explaining how they met and the circumstances behind Y/n being present at this time the revelation had Blake feeling selfish and her expression showed as much, after detailing her earlier life to the two men in front of her Blake had a look of remorse on her face one which Y/n knew all to well from when Holden first opened up to him.

"I understand if you don't want to trust me, or have anything to do with me. I won't stop you from leaving and-"

As quickly as Blake had started rambling, Y/n stood up from his seat and slammed his hand on the table cutting the cat Faunus off and leaving her with a shocked expression. All the while Holden remained neutral in the exchange and simply gave Blake a small nod.

"Okay, so you made some poor life choices Blake, who cares. What matters is the here and now, frankly I couldn't care less if you were still in the White Fang. You're my friend, you're Yang's friend and I stick by my friends through thick and thin, come hell or high water."

As Y/n spoke Holden stood up from his seat and moved next to Blake placing a hand on her shoulder as tears formed in her eyes. Much like Holden, Blake had been subjected to a rough childhood being part of the Fang, and Holden wasn't about to let her suffer alone and neither was Y/n.

"Listen Blake, you said that the White Fang have been collecting large quantities of dust correct?"

"Y-yeah, what's that got to do with anything?"

"Sun found out from a local merchant a few days ago, that the low dust stores in the kingdom due to the Dust robberies, there's a large shipment of dust coming into the harbor tonight."

Almost as if on cue, Sun appeared out of nowhere landing right next to the table the three were using to discuss their current predicament and his actions caught the three off guard.

"So we'll stake out the harbor and if the White Fang show up, then we know who's behind all these robberies."

"Couldn't have said it better myself monkey boy."

Sun flashed the group a triumphant smile as the group of four paid for their goods and made their way off to the docks, even though it was midday the group still needed to figure out a plan, something that was Arthur's specialty.

After waking and still finding no sign of Blake, Holden or even Y/n for that matter Ruby was starting to become even more concerned with her friend's safety and well being. Yang however, was a different story, even though she's only see Y/n fight a Deathstalker and only come out with a damaged prosthetic she's not overly worried about him but rather, Weiss's opinion of Blake and Holden at the moment.

"She still hasn't come back yet, and Holden and Y/n are still missing. What do we do you guys?"

Weiss had her arms crossed and simply looked away from the red-clad girl in disgust that she's caring about someone, who in her opinion, is untrustworthy and a traitor, this attitude pissed Yang off and unfortunately for her, but fortunate for Weiss, Arthur appeared at the doorway in his hunter's attire.

"Simple solution for our current predicament really. We head into Vale and look for them, I highly doubt that Blake, Holden and Y/n would just run off like this without good reason, I should know as Holden did this numerous times."

Ruby looked at her sister for approval to which Yang only needed to nod, Weiss on the other hand was opposed to the idea and openly stated so.

"She's a Faunus, and a member of the White Fang, it would just be better if she went and got herself killed for all I care."
