Aphmau's fingers slid across the white door knob of their front door, turning it open. Her hourglass figure stepped into the doorway, and into the living room. Usually, Aaron would never greet her with any type of kiss, and be in his office, working all day and night, leaving ever so often for meetings with his father. Aphmau looked up, and to her surprise, he was standing there with his arms crossed against his chest, a cold look splattered on his face.
"Where were you?"
She didn't move a muscle. She was frozen like ice, her eyes staring directly at her husband's cold, dark as the night sky, starry eyes. He looked exactly like his father. Very hot and serious.
"I'm going to ask you again. Where. Were. You?" He growled.
She was too afraid to respond, still frozen as ice.
"I-I went grocery shopping...B-Because I was hungry!"
He chuckled, shaking his head.
"Oh, of course you were hungry! Your stomach is empty."
Her eyes widened.
"It's empty. With no baby inside."
Suddenly, a spark of bravery to stick up for herself and not just stand there entered her. She became angry too.
"And you wanna know why I had an abortion? Because you would probably never have time for me, or the baby!"
"It was our baby!"
"But you sure didn't treat it like it was! You shooed me away when I tried to tell you about the baby!"
"Because I was busy!"
"I know you were! You always are! You always put work before your wife!"
"Ugh.." He slammed his fist on the kitchen counter. He watched his fist do so, and then something clicked. He remembered the letter from the hospital he had received about her abortion. An ultrasound picture was attached to it as well, saying she was 3 months.
"You see this?" He held up the paper.
"This is how I found out." He handed her the paper with the picture.
"Aaron, this is your fault!"
"Mine? My fault? Maybe you should have tried harder to tell me when I was doing some paperwork! Not during a phone call!"
