"Yeehaw! Now, guests, it's square dancin' time! Grab a partner and do-si-do!"

While everyone stood up and maneuvered their way to the dance floor, I remained seated with my hand under my chin. The wedding reception had been going on for an hour and a half, and I left my seat once to change into a pink sundress and boots.

Ash was no where to be found, and I gave up looking for him as time went on. Frankly, my jaw clenched whenever I thought about the earlier incident. He had no right to make those assumptions; he was a too clingy for my liking.

Sighing, I grabbed my glass of fruit punch and guzzled it down. This was going to be a long night.

"Do you want to...dance?"

I looked up from my glass to find Nick hovering over me. He looked slightly disheveled--but still perfect--with his pink tie loosened, the three top buttons of his shirt unbuttoned, and pieces of hair jutted out in different directions. Grimacing, he stuck his left hand out towards me; a dark red blush crept up on his face.

What did I have to loose? I could either:

A) Sit here moping the whole night

or

B) Dance and mope all night

or

C) Stuff my face with chocolate cake and smack my head against the wall to pass out

Personally, I'd rather choose 'C,' but because it was only dinner time, the unhealthy crap was still hiding inside of my house. My mother, in fact, wasn't even finished cooking half of the deserts.

We interlocked hands, and I pulled him to the dance floor. About twenty other couples were lined up around us. After a count of three, the live band began playing, and the square dancing began.

Now, I wished I could say that my life became a Disney movie, and we danced elegantly, moving around like we were on air. However, this was real life, and the reality was that Nick couldn't dance. He had the grace of a water buffalo.

As I looped through the crowd, grabbing hands of random dancers, I could faintly see Nick in the middle of the fuss. He stood there awkwardly with his hands in his pockets, waiting for me to come back to him. Once I switched to the last partner, I placed my hands into his once again.

"Ouch," I hissed as my toe stung from impact. "Can you dance?"

Nick grinned sheepishly as we stepped forwards and backwards. "Not really. At least not this type of dancing."

My eyes flickered over to the upper-left corner of the dance floor, where my little brother and sister were dancing together. They effortlessly twirled around; it was almost as if they were flying. Numerous guests were cheering, and Evalyn was even recording the whole routine on her phone.

"My six-year-old twins are square dancing better than us. How embarrassing!"

He rolled his eyes, and his lips set in a firm line. He then proceeded to let go of my hands and to walk towards the DJ booth. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, and my right hand planted onto my hip.

Where was he going? He just left me on the dance floor without a partner!

Nick mumbled something into the DJ's ear, and the DJ nodded in agreement; he began pressing a myriad of buttons. A smirk slithered up Nick's face as he sprinted towards me. My bottom lip pouted slightly. What was he up to?

When he reached me, "Teach Me How to Dougie" started blasting from the tall speakers. He began moving side from side, slithering up and down like he was a snake. The whole crowd's eyes were on my classmate, but Nick didn't seem to notice. Grinning, he pointed towards me, gesturing me to join in.
