The Fortem Manor was quiet, none of the various torches were lit and guards could be seen patrolling every area of the home, that is excluding the only room unknown to everyone, the hidden study. 

"Master Leon, are you here!" Rudeus called out quietly. 

Beside him were two maids with fairly similar appearances. One was named Sash whilst the other was Alice. Rudeus had adopted them after finding them unconscious within a forest. Due to them both having amnesia their origins are unknown. 

"Father, can you please explain to us what's going on?" Alice asked it was far too early in the day to be moving sneakily throughout the manor. 

"Alice, quiet down, Father would definitely have a reason to bring us to a hidden part of the manor at such an early time of day," Sasha said. 

"I-i understand..." Alice said. 

As Rudeus continued to call out for Leon, the sound of footsteps could be heard. 

"I apologize for being late, the guards were a little extra cautious and wouldn't leave move an inch from the door to my room," Leon said. 

"Young Master!" Sasha and Alice yelled in surprise. 

"SHHHH!" Rudeus immediately covered their mouths before shushing them. 

"The guards will hear you!" He whispered. 

"Don't worry about the guards, Rudeus. You can be as loud as you want. I made sure to cover this room with enough Sound Barriers to ensure that no one would hear our conversation." Leon said. 

Seeing the confidence on Leon's face, he understood that it was fine to speak normally. "Though I have no idea what a Sound Barrier is, I understand Master Leon, so can now explain everything?" Rudeus asked.

"As you know ever since I was a child I wasn't the smartest nor the brightest. Even an illiterate commoner would be able to outclass me in academics." I said. 

"Of course, your mother had left many books to help your academics and your father would always ask me to discover a means of helping you through magic." Rudeus said. 

"Well the reason behind is because of my Ability as a Zero Attribute Magic user," Leon said. 

Unlike other attributes of magic, Zero Attribute Magic is the most unique. Those born with it have a chance of awakening an ability unique to either themselves or their bloodline. Due to the fact that most of these abilities can easily overthrow a country, Zero Attribute Magic users have been considered a taboo hence any discovered to possess Zero Attribute is executed before deemed a threat.

"Zero Attribute magic..." Alice said. 

"The reason why I called you today was so I can receive your help. Sooner or later someone will discover that I am a Zero Attribute User, hence if possible, I wish to leave this country after graduating from The Royal Academy." Leon said. 

"But isn't  that equivalent to..." Before Sasha could continue Leon assured her. "Don't worry, I don't plan on doing this illegally. You see when someone graduates from The Royal Academy they can receive a large amount of land to either create their own territory or transition to another kingdom." He said 

"Master Leon, if that's your plan, then as a friend I can only follow you." Rudeus said. 

"Thank you Rudeus, as for you two, the reason why I requested him to bring two trustworthy people from the staff is simple, I need the both of you to help me out with my inventions," Leon said.

"Inventions?" Alice and Sasha said confused. 

"Using magic I can create artificial lights that last forever and devices that count time. Not only that I can create a metal carriage that can travel between kingdoms within a single day. But to do so I'm going to need some help. " Leon said. 

"We understand." Alice and Sasha said. 

 After saying what he had say, everyone returned to their rooms and went back to sleep.
